I love this idea, this should be added in conjunction with gridfinity, gridfinity is made for flat surfaces parallel to the ground, such as a drawer in a tool chest. Add the wall mounted hexagon organizer and you can create a workshop with literally everything you need in reach. I can already see myself rebuilding the 1x4 gridfinity model into a 4x4 and keeping it on the side of my desk for like a hotswap setup like a soldering iron kit being pulled off the shelf and thrown onto the bay for my project.
