Mariano, you are a gentle person and kind soul. I'm very sorry to see and hear what you are going through. You have touched your fans in a manner that goes beyond poker. We all wish you well. Whether you take off two days, two weeks, or even two years, you can count on the vast majority of us here waiting for you. Likewise, if you drop down in stakes, the channel will be no less interesting. It's you and your journey that interests us. Be well sir.
Yowtch , 200 grand down is several years’ worth of savings for me, and several decades for most others. Take whatever break you need to get yourself in the best mindset, and the best financial status too. Do whatever you need to for your well-being.
@Rampage nice win bro, look forward to seeing the upswing on your channel. Unfortunate that it was against your buddy but, poker be like that sometimes......the felt is a battlefield. After watching that outro, there is so much I want to say to Mariano, but I already give enough bad advice to another vlogger.....LOL. The one thing I will say to both of you since your both on this meteoric rise into high stakes is, make sure you truly understand and are comfortable with the variance that these high stakes bring. Like, people say they understand variance, but I don't think most understand the real magnitude, and even more so, the emotional effect negative variance has on you. It's all good during an upswing but, you could play perfect theoretical poker (which no one is) and be down hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars (even $1M+) at these high stakes and stack depths. Until it happens, it doesn't seem like its possible.......but the math associated with variance doesn't care.
why wouldnt you and mariano just chop up your wins and losses vs each other after (assuming you dont already) with you guys being friends I would assume you much rather take money from others than inflict pain on one another.
@@hatttricktv5908 this is why you will always be behind in life… people will walk all over you with this mentality. Trust me , you will learn to not do anyone favors because when you need help in life people will turn away from you.
As someone who's watched you since day 1, and competed against you numerous times, I know this is just a bump in the road. As Phil Ivey made famous, "Its not how you play when you're winning but how you play when you're loosing that shows the mark of a champion." I'm lookin' forward to seeing you overcome this downswing and be back on top very soon.
Any poker player can relate to this even without playing these high stakes, happens to all of us. Probably a good time to watch a few of your early vlogs to look back how far you’ve come! What matters most is how you play, the results will follow. Stay strong man
Kudos for making the vid, I can't imagine its been easy this month still churning out the vlogs when dealing with the downswing. You played well, things will turn around soon!
In need of the RU-vid dollars to recover. The nice part about all the vloggers is that they have a nice extra bump in equity for every pot since they’ll at least make some money off the content
Downswings are a regular part of poker which is where bankroll management comes into play...if you skip steps & play too big of stakes vs players that are much better and/or have waaaay deeper pockets you can't just sit down & bull them over.
For the past 3+ years, I've subbed to, watched and followed quite a few poker vlogs...Brad Owen, Neeme, Rampage, Ben Deach, Lex O, Close2Broke, PokerfaceAsh, PokerBeast, SplitSuit, Jeff Boski, etc. Each one is unique with different things I like about them, but yours has the best vibe. Consistency, honesty, no fluff, solid balanced play, and a variety of scenery (aka you vlog in many different games/cardrooms). You deserve all the respect, happiness and success - straight up.
You will get the 200K back. You're one of the best vloggers out. Your skills surpass almost every vlogger I watch. A couple more big games and a sun run, you'll be right back in the saddle again. Keep going bro!
Mariano, you're one of the most talented cash game players I've seen burst onto the scene in some time. You also seem like a genuinely good guy and very down to earth. A very rare combo to find in this sphere, with the latter being the most important attribute. Obviously something you already know, but when you play in nosebleed stakes games with a very aggressive style like you have, it really only takes a few spots where getting a call or a fold will determine how your month goes. Take a little time, get your head clear, and I'm sure you'll be crushing again in no time!
you're a poker hero bro. you've clawed your way up to the big games. I'm still nervous to play $5/5 sometimes. I tend to stick to $2/3. Kudos to you and all your accomplishments. I still go back and watch your small stakes content because that's the levels I play. Thanks bro and cheers to many years of success.
@@raymondthompson7899 There's skill....Poker by and large is a math game, you play out your equity usually. The thing is poker is also not just a math game but a social game especially live. Take the last hand, why on Earth is Marino choosing to bluff Mr. Rampunts? That was the bad decision you are not knocking that man off a over pair on that board texture. Also, the two of them play a lot together, Rampage took his time I think he found a tell on Mariano. I'm thinking Mariano looked too uncomfortable and that led to the call.
Dude. Mariano, I know I'm just echoing the other commenters, but wow. You're a legend for being so transparent and level headed during such a difficult turn of events. Keep your head up.
Hey @Mariano, I love all your content and you are a great player. It’s definitely painful to lose that amount of money but keep playing, you will come back even better. Believe in yourself man because we all believe in you. Peace.
Only painfull as not at that level yet regularly and maturity and life experiences and bank roll and ayes a fan of his channel and him as a person.. players with millions there as have... the bank roll
Hey Mariano, I've been a fan since the beginning, and I'll be watching whether you play $25/50/100 or $2/5. Your humor and humanity are always present, and I think that's what most of us come for. You know Neeme took time off. When he came back everybody said, "Hey Andrew, good to see you again." Take the time you need. Go camping with Meghan. Go play with nieces and nephews, or whatever clears your soul. We'll be here whether the next upload is in a week or six months.
My guy, I can only imagine losing that much. But I believe you’ll bounce back. Your work ethic and discipline has gotten you this far. Such is the life of a risk taker, and the downs elevate the ups down the line. I learned so much from you and you continue to inspire us poker players to keep playing without any hesitation or intimidation. If you need a break, hella understandable. I know deep down you’ll always love the game of poker, and we’ll always see you there. Thanks a lot for the hard work, the consistent effort on making these games entertaining for us and as well as educational. You’re the GOAT Mariano. See you out there some time!
I like Mariano, but it wasn’t close. This combo barely/almost never cold 4b vs these positions and never barrels since we have so many AK that would do this. Also bluffing into someone that knows you overbluff and isn’t scared money this deep is just lighting it on 🔥. We’ve all been here though and these downswings help us improve and spin it back up even more than before so I look forward to seeing Mariano do that.
Mariano... You will come out on top. Sorry for the tough run you are enduring. Have watched you since very early in your career....you are fun to watch, and a nice guy through ups and downs. My favorite poker vlogger.
Let's go Mariano, we know you'll turn it around. You're game is very classy and I love watching you for the sport if poker. Great moves, it just didn't pan out. PS if you want to get lost in the woods somewhere you should still make a vlog about it 🙏😁
Damn Mariano. I know it hurts but maybe a couple days to put things in perspective is a good thing. Whenever you wanna come back we’re all here for ya! Your content is second to none and I’m confident you’ll bounce back big. Keep your head up!
Hi Mariano, I've been a loyal watcher since the beginning and just wanted to provide some words of encouragement. Yeah it's tough to say they matter in downswings of this magnitude but I think it's a huge realization that you know you were running so far above EV in the beginning of the year. The inevitable downswing came and it hit hard. The risky, all-or-nothing type of plays that make you such a great player and worked out so frequently early this year seem to be going the opposite and blowing up in your face now, and that's just poker. We all face these swings, but the games you play in are making them huge. You're too good to not get it back and you will. A break would serve you well. Hope it's not too draining emotionally and you have a ton of courage for moving up as fast as you did. Maybe a slight step down would serve you well, but maybe you just need a few days/weeks off and you can go back to beating these huge games. Either way, best of luck as poker can be absolutely draining at times.
A couple losing sessions is a downswing now?? He's barely been playing a cpl years & doesn't even know for 6 months straight your AA will get cracked often, draws will hit on your sets, can't hit even a combo draw to save your life, KK into AA and other coolers...plus it isn't 1/2 & 2/5 players he's playing against.
@@T-roc57 All fair points. But he's lost upwards of $200k recently I believe, so yes, that's a downswing, and one most poker players will never experience.
@@michaeljames2288-Amount-wise yes i agree...but it was like what, 3 or 4 sessions? The very best & luckiest in the world dont win every time they sit down and if losing 200k hurts that much (as it would almost anyone) then dont play fn nosebleed stakes.
Mariano, your vlog is such a fantastic combination of great play, video editing, narration, and locations. Although it’s been a downswing lately, please don’t discount what a fantastic player you are. Ty for all you do 👍🏻
Great video. Love the end. Was really surprised he called you, but I woud have done the same with JJ's in that hand. Keep your head up, stuck is just for the moment. It will ge better. Thanks for sharing. Love the home games.
Chin up bro you’re an amazing poker mind and player. You’ll be right back to your winning ways in no time. It’s been a pleasure following your journey.
Hey bro it’s never fun when money is on the line- keep your head up and keep grinding- lesson learned bro- u r good enough to sustain this but all poker players deal with adversity- stay strong take a break and come back when u r ready. We will b here waiting for the the vids and a great finish to the year! 🙏🏼🔥👌🏼👌🏼🤙🏼👊🏼💥👍🏼
Keep your head up and keep playing your game. You will get through this down swing. Your content is great and you are an awesome poker player, I have no doubt things will turn around for you
man you are awesome. still willing to talk calmly and nicely about bad times as much as good times. ill always watch cause of that! take a break from poker. go on a vacation and post a couple of fun vacay videos! ill watch and like. then come back refreshed and punish Rampage for those types of calls hahaha
Hey man. A few years ago I played with you at the Gardens($2/$3), before you were a vlogger or anything. (I had hit the bbjp a few weeks prior, and you recognized me from that night so we got to chatting during the session.) Anyway, during the session I was getting smoked, and it was clear I was the fish at the table. But while some of the guys were needling me, you were giving me some insight on reads & bet sizing…mostly friendly banter, but it made the session less painful. I went home that night thinking about some of the insight you had given, and it had a real impact on my poker “career.” I started studying and taking it more seriously, and while Im still at the low stakes, I’m a much stronger player, and getting to a point of reliable profitability at my level. Anyway…I’m sorry it’s been a tough month on the felt. But it’s been a joy to watch your progress over the years, and it’s only reinforced my own love for the game. I know this message isn’t worth $200k, but hopefully it helps put a bit of a smile on your face. Im sure I’m not the only one who watches your videos thinking, “I remember when I played with him at $2/$3! Good dude, pumped to see his success!”
Mariano, I’m your fan from Russia, St.Petersburg! Keep going, bro! It’s another level but you gonna take it! You are doing good poker work, keep going and the best gonna happen! You have our support, bro!
My biggest down swing was just over 10k and it affected me massively for months. Stopped playing for a while but felt better when I sat back down for taking the break. Lord only knows how you must be feeling at the moment. Great thing about it is it will balance out. You're playing well. I would suggest a little break, even if only a week somewhere nice where you can collect your thoughts and come back swinging. You've got this Mariano
I was on the edge of my seat with that bluff. Solid play, wish it would have worked out. Hope the next one gets through and the run good starts back up
Stay strong 🙏🏼 I hope you’ve got a quality support system as I always find that is something you can fall back on. A coach, counselor, your partner etc.
Keep your head up brotha. Remember nothing last forever, up swings have an end so do the down swings. I know that's it's easy for me to say but you're an inspiration for me so I hope u don't give up.
You have managed to find yourself in an excellent position. You have experienced something new, and that is pure unadulterated GROWTH catalyst. You can only become wiser from here, having achieved what other walks may call another "notch in your belt." No doubt you will improve again, you have the makings of one of the best ring gamers in the game. The philosophical perspective is this; upswings and downswings cannot exist without the existance of the other. Keep grinding.
I feel your pain bro, You’re my favorite vlogger by far for many reasons. I went through something like this recently. I lost an 11,000 pot taking a shot at higher stakes. Got it all in of the flop with 80% and lost. Financially it’s fine but just the thought of losing when you played better and were the favorite kinda made me losing interest. Definitely felt defeated. Will always watch your videos beo
Rough month brother, not gonna lie. I am sure you will bounce back, you're clearly a very talented player. If there is any consolation, I consider your vlog to be the best out there, even better than Brad's or Andrew's, and I think I speak for a lot of people. Keep your head high, you have a very bright future. Peace!
It's so sweet to say what you said but I doubt it's any consolation what with him being down $200k and all. I hope he can stop playing and get help altogether before he goes bankrupt. He's a good man. If he were my pal I'd tell him to slow your roll. But I don't know the guy so I just wish him the best.
Hang in there Mariano. Things will get better for you. You’re an awesome player and moving up in stakes is always a risk. However the only way to get better is to play bigger games and learn from your mistakes, which I know you will. I love all your content you always keep it real and very much entertaining!
@@GBpacker420 Neemer? I like how he plays but I don't like staring at his face the whole vlog. I also don't like his verbiage like the suited variety and favorable crud.
Too bad for Mariano this session happened two months ago. We now know that the proper play if your all-in bluff gets called and you lose, is to call cheating and demand your money back.
at 10/5 you also had the option to downbet really tiny on the turn. he either has to checkraise now which opens future traps to reraise or keep you in the betting lead. specially against recreational player a way to prevent larger leads for cheap showdowns, we dont really wanna start bluffcatching with the bottom of our range (please tell me its the bottom lol)
Mariano, that HCL downswing run you had . It was definitely tough. You made pretty good plays most of the nights and tonight for the it hand you really made him think. I thought they were good plays, just on the wrong side of the coin.
