The reason Sauron didn't expect anyone to ever really try to destroy the One is because he couldn't understand contentment, he was too ambitions to wrap his head around the idea of not wanting more than you have. That's why hobbits can resist the ring, they don't really have any wants it can use against them.
That’s not quite true. If Hobbits didn’t have any wants the ring could exploit, then how do you explain Gollum? Also, Bilbo and Frodo both showed that they were affected by the ring when they had it too.
@@eon1014 Smeagol aka Gollum comes from a more... I guess one way to say it is "ancestor-like" race that then became the Hobbits. Best I can explain it is use the example of "comparing the Neanderthal to us modern day humans". Smeagol didn't rly know about the Ring but the beauty aka Precious intoxicated him, thus becoming Gollum after killing his friend for it. For Bilbo, essentially he was walking around with active poison with a mind of its own in his pocket. It's not a matter of "if hobbits didn't have wants" it was a matter of "how long can you hold onto a flaming coal just to maintain a few "magic tricks" like disappearing?" Adding on that Bilbo didn't know about the Ring till it was handed to Frodo. And o lordy Frodo Wood. That hobbit carried that thing for miles and months into Mordor itself where the ring wanted to go. The moment Frodo was at the summit, the burden was just too much by that point. Hence why it was dropped into the volcano while Gollum and Frodo were fighting for it.
Even though Smeagol succumbed to greed for the Ring, he carried it for centuries without being reduced to a Wraith, or enslaved to Sauron's will. The Kings of Men fared far worse. As the novels and movies emphasize repeatedly, Hobbits are just really tough, physically and mentally. You can only push them so far before you hit steel.
Let’s just say the lore of LOTR goes WAAAAY beyond the films and books (not counting Shadow and War of Mordor as they’re non canon). Had Tolkien been alive, his lore would’ve gone further in the planned sequel books after Return of the King.
Sooo, to answer your question on LOTR lore, Tolkien was a big giant history, geography, folklore, theology and linguistics nerd. His goal with The Lord of the Rings was to create a modern mythos for Britain and Europe as a whole, based of various elements of... well... everything. From his Catholic faith, to elements of old Pagan myths and folktales. This is also why there are so many individual languages constructed for the series. Making new languages is what Professor Tolkien did for fun when hanging out with his nerd friends. I can't remember if the Chronicles of Narnia Author, CS Lewis, joined him in that but they were also close friends and had many disagreements in writing style. The end point of this is, LOTR lore is huge. The Silmarillion was originally not meant to be published IIRC, it's sort of Tolkeins notes to keep his story straight. But it was compiled into sort of a Biblical/Historical document and published by his son. And there's more lore in other writings, as well.
Sadly the Rule of Kule doesn't win everything. And tbh I liked the design of Sauron in his armor more than the movie did, gives a far better menaced presence than the literal tower of head spikes.
Love didn't destroy him... The need for the Ring destroyed itself. It is why Lotr doesn't end with good triumphing over evil, evil foiled itself. As for Sam it was one of the few times Eru Illuvatar intervened, he gave him the strength to carry Frodo up Mount Doom.

Ok in the boks Sauron didnt reach out his hand and then isildur cut it off he was jumped by two of the most powerful kings in history killing them and after the fight when Sauron was tired isildur came up and cut it off
10:00-10:16 well i am gonna be THAT GUY in this video apparently but NO Frodo did in fact fall to the corruption of the ring at the end of the 3rd film in mount Doom Frodo and Sam are at the lava pit and Sam is yelling to Frodo to throw the ring in and destroy it but Frodo refuses and says that the ring is his and puts it's on going invisible this is where Gollum comes in knockes out Sam with a rock and Jumps Frodo and bits off his finger where the ring is the ring is only thrown in the lava and destroyed because Frodo and Gollum are fighting over it ending with Gollum being thrown off the clift and down into the lava with the ring in his hands

They really poorly explained the breaking swords part. Sauron is a MASTER of smiting. If anyone can discern a weakness of a sword by a mere glance its him. Its literally his STRONGEST asset. Its literally what fighting is for Goku or what web spinning is for spiderman. Its also symbolises his love for materialistic things.
If you think about it he was reforging his mace constantly during the fight. Probably just wearing Frostmorne down with constant radical changes in temperature, but since he kept reforging the mace his weapon wouldn't break.

Arthas had nothing to realize about the Ring, at best he would've known it boosted his power but didn't know how much or anything about it. And the movie does a bad job doing Saurons defeat with an Ex Machina. What rly happened was an amazing 2v1 fight between op Elves and him and he tanked literally everything until he couldn't tank any more. Just straight up chip damaged to oblivion and had to go ghost and retreat, leading Isildur to collect the ring after the battle.
So, a few things to help you out (lmao, like a year late). 1. In the Lore, Sauron didn't lose to (Human King, his name is strange and hard to spell) because he had his fingers chopped off mid-fight. The movie doesn't show it well at all, but Sauron fought a titanic battle against the 2 Elven kings for several hours before (Human King) ever got there. Those 2 elven kings were essentially superpowered wizards themselves. Sauron fought a 2v1 and ultimately killed both of the kings, but his body died afterward. (Human King) got there with Elrond (New King of the elves since his dad died to Sauron just before), and (Human King) cut the ring finger off of Sauron before he could regenerate his body. The movie changed it for dramatic effect and to reduce the number of characters. 2. Frostmorrne was destroyed by a sword that was more powerful than it. The argument Deathbattle is making is that Sauron, himself, is thusly powerful enough to break Frostmorne as well.
To answer your questions about the result: No, you were right, the Eye of Acherus could see Sauron's secret that he draws his powers from the Ring. The only problem is that, to truly destroy Sauron for good, he would have to completely destroy the One ring, which he didn't have enough power to do so, cutting a finger only separated his spirit who could still live on as the Eye of Sauron. (Remember, in LOTR, the only reason he didn't reform with the Ring is that he... didn't really know where the hell it was taken !) Meanwhile, Sauron having twice as much power and millenias of experience over Arthas, he wouldn't have any trouble figuring out and exploiting the Lich King's own and much more oblivious source of power : Frostmourne. (or the Helm of domination, but you know bonking on someone's head real hard or hitting a sword while swordfighting is much more common than cutting a specific finger) Without Frostmourne, Arthas looses all of his control over the undead, so it's a much more guaranteed win condition for Sauron than it is for Arthas. As a big WoW fan, I am so happy that DB finally gave the franchise a representation even if he lost and it makes me sad too. U_U
After conquering Middle Earth and getting Ring back Sauron would most likely travel East to the Gates to Void to free his master Morgoth and jump start The Last War

You are completely misunderstanding Sauron’s demise. It’s not that he NEVER expected or anticipated anyone could destroy the ring. They could in theory and there was a microscopic chance they could in his mind but he knows pretty much everyone is susceptible to the Ring’s corruption so that even if they attempted to they wouldn’t get far. Even then, Frodo couldn’t and didn’t destroy it in the end despite coming so close. In the end, it was the ring itself. What he didn’t expect was a Hobbit would get as far as they could to nearly destroying it and that’s only because out of all the beings he has fought against, he never thought a Hobbit would have any desire to destroy it since they are the most carefree race that don’t seek any adventure. So it would not be common sense as you see it. You’re also not understanding how cunning Sauron is. And that one flaw does not negate his cunningness. I’m sorry dude but please cut out the egregious jokes because it’s clear you weren’t paying attention. I know DB isn’t the best source for a lot of things, but they did a pretty good job with explaining Sauron’s feats and skills, just stop talking loudly over the important things because you’re missing out on the info!
Sauron fought against Galadrial without the one ring during the hobbit movie. Galadrial wielding two powerful objects, one of the rings of power along side the light bulb power thing that generates light and she banished Sauron back to mordor. Even more so Sauron during the last alliance, he fought against Elendi and Gil Galad they are the two high kings of men and elves. Wielding powerful weaponry Elendi having Narsil made by the greatest smith and also Gil Galad wielding a ring of power and also using a spear that was unbeatable. Sauron took blow after blow and defeated them before dying, Isildur only came to loot the one ring frim Sauron afterwards. In the books ^^^ In the movie it was a different depiction. Its also not so easy for you to attempt to cut the one ring from his finger than youd think, especially when he sees the Lich King as an strong opponent hence he'll not be stupid to let his guard down.
The movies which he used to largely measured him by massively under sells what the one ring can do, invisibillity is neat and all but thats what ut does if you're NOT sauron, if you are it allow you, for starters to literally warp reality around you
Honestly, Ryan? I actually think it would be great if you were to watch the entire series of Death Battle. I know there will be a lot of series you don't know or care about, but a lot of people believe that a huge plus to the show is getting to learn new things, and possibly discover new franchises and characters that they end up loving when they never would have given them the time of day otherwise. Death Battle has a lot to offer, and it would be interesting to watch you see them gradually grow over time and come to the point where they are today. Plus it'll probably get a decent amount of views.
