Very impressive tool! This would come very handy where i work. Much of what it reports will be known but with a tool like this it should be easier to convince people "up the chain" about some needed focus temporary shifts. We are slowly painting ourselves into a smaller and smaller corner and we need to get out of that asap (we are slowly maybe, but it takes more guts and guerrilla methods from individual devs, this also takes away the feeling of working as a team)
Well, I don't develop much any more but I am intrigued by your code analysis methods. Recently, I've begun to look at Lisp because I am concerned about the increasing complexity of code as time passes. Too many programmers revel in complexity, some kind of machismo or something. But it's really short sighted. Having started in programming as a maintenance developer of somebody else's code, where English was not the original programmer's native language, so functions had names that made sense in Portugese, not so much in English, and of course, very little comments, complexity as a daily problem has stuck with me. Damn, 21 million LOC for Linux! Time to move to FreeBSD :) I also found interesting your discussion on state and immutability. This idea of immutability is something that I've really only heard about in my study of Lisp and I don't remember other languages focusing on it as a particular concept. Thank you for focusing my attention on these subjects.
