@@yozanderisboobthat’s creepy behavior right there!! It’s disgusting Edit: For those who replied saying its not creepy, don't mind my shenanigans. But then again, why ask that?
My grandma loved Betty boop, she even had statues of her. She passed a few weeks ago and ever since then I just keep seeing Betty boop everywhere when I didn't before.
I remember watching this in my dads study when I was 3-6 years old, after all these years I still remember the soothing feeling of just laying on my side on a beige couch, slowly falling asleep to the sound of old cartoons like Pop eye, Astro Boy and Betty Boop! Back when life had no worries.. no drama… everything was so.. peaceful, oh what I would give to feel that way again, To be carried into my room by a parent after a long drive on the highway, looking at all the streetlights as my eyes would get heavier.. I’m scared that I’ll never get to feel that joy again, but I’m relieved I’m one of the few kids who did get to have such a childhood.. the younger children of today will never understand the joys of just watching good old cartoons that were made long before you were born. Shows like Betty Boop meant a lot to me, They still do mean a lot to me. I just wish I had knew what a treasure the short period of my childhood was, and just how short it was… Like the saying goes, “You never know what you have until it’s gone.”
I remember how much my grandma loved Betty boop and how she collected old cartoons than she let me watch. Unfortunately she passed away a couple years ago due to cancer….Yet it’s nice to remember the good times I had with her.
Here’s the real deal behind the original “Betty Boop” inspiration. An African American entertainer named Esther Jones, was a regular performer at the then Black Harlem hotspot, The Cotton Club, in the 1920’s. Her stage name eventually became “Baby Esther” because of her unique, “baby” style of singing.
This Esther Jones was the one who adopted Betty Boop's mannerisms and the boop thing, after the character. There were other singers that sang like that before her...
15th! What a classic! The creativity moment to moment is astonishing Nothing is lost to the imagination of the animators There is a timeless Joy in watching Max’s body of work I hope another Fleischer arises in this day I will pray for America. Please pray for me. God Bless you.
Nostalgic and charming beyond words! I've always liked the animation in these Dave Fleischer cartoons. I haven't seen this cartoon in decades. Was Betty voiced by Mae Questel? Many thanks, Cult Cinema Classics!
Fun fact bettyboop was a very famous show and if you know anyone 65 or older they most rarely they will know exactly what your taking about and possibly sing a song or say a sentence or 2 or somthing like that.
