Linda was a homewrecker

I agree. All this about her "sweetness" doesn't fly with me. She got too comfortable with Betty's kids, husband, friends etc.. If the movie is to be believed she even was involved on whether Betty could see the children. Dan talked it over with her. She shouldn't be making decisions like that. I just don't buy the she's so sweet narrative.

I was the victim of a homewrecker - we had three beautiful kids, two girls and a boy. Jodie took everything from me but never once did it occur to me to k*ll them. When its over, its over! They did me a favour, if she hadn't got involved with him I wouldn't have gone on to meet my husband and the kids wouldn't have had a fully involved stepfather who loves them and a younger brother.

doesn't occur to anybody that Dan and Linda were finally at peace not having a foul-mouthed terrorist addressing Dan as 'asshole' and 'faggot' (even though Linda still had to listen to phone messages addressing her as "the c*nt")

@@haintedhouse2990”in crime history”. Lol. Are you serious? Maybe you feel that way because it’s usually men killing their wives at alarming rates. Hearing a woman kill her husband is so random that it’s incomprehensible, therefore you find it to be the biggest crime in history. Lol. Good grief

My "beloved" found another young woman. I was desperately hurt but held my head high. Friends gave me a shoulder to cry on. We divorced quickly. I never once thought about killing anybody. Betty suffered but her decisions were awful..
@TruthSeeker714

I don't think Betty suffered at all, just was an extremely angry and irrational person. Don't know any details about your marriage but it's possible that you didn't really have to divorce your husband.

That is a case by case situation, what you or I would do has no bearing over anyone else's strategy for handling such a sensitive situation and I doubt you and Betty's story are identical. I try very hard not to judge and say what I would or wouldn't do if in someone else's high heels! You can surprise yourself depending on the trauma. Sometimes for the better, I have been crossed bad before and could not believe at how I handled and conducted myself, out of body experience for me honestly, but instead of being a grizzly mama bear like I planned on, my heart was granted peace, forgiveness, and warmth towards my ex-husband. That was not my thought process, someone was praying for me, my ex-husband, and his toy.

@@TruthSeeker714 I guess your husband didn't have a pot to piss in...in contrast to your experience, Betty sacrificed for her husband to finish school by keeping the family afloat. Betty's husband, became rich and successful. During their separation, Dan sells the family home and doesn't let her know and refused to give her half of that money, which was rightfully hers. He found a way to divorce her without settling financially. Strings her along for 7 years like a child with an allowance. He was a controlling monster... He should have given her half and be done with it, THAT is why she snapped.
@haintedhouse2990

@@thesummerof1968 Betty would've received more of a fair shake from Dan if she could've refrained from addressing him as 'asshole' and 'faggot' in front of friends and co-workers during the early years of their marriage. even after she made her entrance through Dan's front door with her car (!?) she still had a beautiful ocean-front home and a new live-in boyfriend - so she chooses murder, prison and leaving her kids with no parents. her own demise and the future of her children meant nothing - she's a roaring sociopath who does her damage then blames the world cause nothing is ever Betty's fault. please spare me the "Dan made her that way" bit - Betty was a foul-mouthed tool years before the shit hit the fan - read up on her cold-as-ice parents who were MIA for both her trials - her issues go waay back.

Hundred percent premeditated first-degree murder if this happened today, she didn’t go there with a gun to kill herself. If she had she would’ve killed herself after she shot them or before in front of them. You people defending this crazy woman are just as crazy.

She absolutely committed murder and deserves prison. There are situations we talk about today that contributes to people going MAD… gaslighting, passive aggressive, narcissistic personality, greed, power over others, etc that were not discussed back then. I believe the husband and his second wife were complicit. They didn’t deserve death but their actions contributed to the mental dismantling of Betty.
