I love Betty Hutton (1921-2007)...I don't think that there were any female entertainers before her or any who come after her who will ever match her infectious energy and balls to the wall style. Funny, in-your-face, AND she can carry a tune. Better yet, she has a wonderful middle range voice that allows anyone to sing along. Performers come and go, but there will never be anyone else quite like her. When God made her, he definitely broke the mold.♥
She is from my parents time but when I first saw Betty Hutton she reminded me of Gilda Ratner. Kind of goofy, kind of loud, but fun to watch. Please don't hate me!
I love her because she doesn’t just rely on sex appeal like a lot of other stars. She uses her own personality in her acting style, which is fun and super energetic with a strong unique voice
I saw this movie many years ago in the days of my (better living through chemistry) misspent youth. We were smoking some good ganja and watching TNN out of Atlanta (Ted Turner had bought hundreds of these old movies). We were floored by this song and were tripping on it. I didn't find it on here until a few years back. Hutton was a damn good singer and actress.

Over the top hammy as she always is especially in Annie Get Your Gun! I just don't see how she ever made movies and I realize that I am in the minority about Betty. I did think she was passable in "Greatest Show on Earth"

MUSICALLY, IT IS VERY COMPLEX THERE ARE A LOT OF PITCHES THAT ARE NOT EASY AND SHE SAILED THROUGH THEM. PHYSICALLY, IT IS INTENSE. IT GIVES YOU THAT BOOGIE WOOGIE STYLE BUT ALSO BROADWAY, SHOW STOPPER PANANCHE. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN JUST TOSS OFF EITHER YOU GOT IT OR YOU DON'T. AND BOYS, SHE HAD IT!(TO QUOTE GYPSY) I SING THIS SONG AND HAVE SUNG IT FOR AT LEAST 20 YEARS FOR MY AUDITIONS AND FOR DIFFERENT EVENTS. TO BE ABLE TO PERFORM IT ALSO IS YET ANOTHER FEAT.
