Agreed... but atleast 3 hopes fixes that. Its not gronder admittedly, but you do get a map with this theme, and depending on your choices, it could easily be Empire VS Kingdom AND Alliance simultaneously. With an arguably even more epic version of this track too.
I agree, this battle is the most impactful in the entire game, having to kill the students is really sad and shows you how brutal war is, each death is sad on it's own way and you can see how their dreams and plans for the future got crushed by you (and Edelgard) when they die, Raphael laments that he won't be able to take care of his sister anymore and he was probably the only family she had, Lysithea wanted to make the most of her short life and now her life was taken away before her extimated time, Leonie won't live Jeralt's legacy, Ignatz shouldn't even be in this mess, but he wanted to become a knight to make his parents proud of him and now he is dead and Dimitri and the Blue Lions students he bring alongside him on the Verdant Wind version of this map were all killed because of his thirst for revenge
Crimson Flower really got the short end of the stick on everything. Could have easily been 22 chapters but I guess they ran out of budget? And Silver Snow could have been made into its own route rather than a weak version of Verdant Wind. All that said, Crimson Flower is still my favorite route.... I just wish it was way better than it is.
@@Xzyum00ilver Snow was the first route created, and Verdant Wind and Azure Moon were meant to be variations of it. Crimson Flower was never planned and was a last minute addition because the developers really liked Edelgard. Maybe they also thought that having another Conquest-style route would be interesting in terms of story. So that’s why it was so rushed and why Silver Snow feels very crappy and minimal compared to the other routes. I really feel like Blue Lions and Verdant Wind needed 1 more unique map each. Crimson Flower could’ve used at least 1 more though honestly it’d be difficult. The obvious answer is to fight the slitherers after Fhirdiad but it’d be hard to top the sheer epicness of burning Fhirdiad with another repeat of Shambala afterwards. And taking them out before the kingdom would just be odd story-wise since edelgard and Hubert state that their power is needed I’m not really sure what you could do to improve it tbh.
@@IceBlueLugia Crimson Flower was planned before AM and VW were even made. You cannot had a whole new route with a gigaton of new dialogue last minute to a game. Its uniqueness is what limited reuse of assets that would have made it look smoother like the other routes.
Azure Moon Route: Dimitri: I have found you, Edelgard! There is no escape! Raymond: The Alliance is also here. Pity, I'd rather not fight Claude, but this is war. If he wants a fight, fair or not, I'll have to give it to him. Dimitri, I'll cover you. Edelgard's all yours. I'll deal with Claude. Dimitri: Do as you please. Their flesh will fall all the same. Objective: Defeat all bosses. Player Phase!
Verdant Wind Route: Claude: The Kingdom Army is here, and they look pretty ugly. We'll have to keep on our toes. Raymond: Claude, the army stands at the ready. Awaiting orders, sir? Claude: I must get to Edelgard before Dimitri reaches her. Can you take care of him? Raymond: If by "taking care of him" you mean subduing him, sure I can handle that. See you on the other side, Claude. Objective: Defeat Dimitri or Edelgard before they collide! Player Phase!
