dude I will freaking out like a baby if they cover Cynic one day. My two favourite bands at once is like a dream. Also I will love if they do a cover of Tool or Death Post Human era
Huh. I actually loved Chromatic Aberration. I mean, the instrumental alone was not amazing but I thought with the vocals that it's incredible. Difference in opinion I suppose
I went to a concert in Copenhagen, and they played the whole freaking song, from start to finish. Everyone was singing along and rocking out. It was a great time
I like that they are doing it the way they would do it. It totally sounds like queen and btbam. I don't mind hearing 1:1 covers, but this has their own sound in it!
***** well, I'm a musician and I think I have a better understanding compared to someone who doesn't play an instrument. I'm not really the type to put lyrics first. I always try to grasp what the musicians are playing. It's only been out for 4 years and I didn't really start listening to it until 2 years ago.
The Parallax 2 is really not the same without understanding the story behind it. If you haven't I suggest you read any of a number of really good interpretations online. It really changes your perception of a number of the songs. Knowing the story turns Silent Flight Parliament from an alright song to one of my favorite songs. So many nice lyrical bites in there. The owls calling humans ''Fucking Weaklings''. "Break in before the dawn of the sun, they are sleeping, holding each other... Like it's the last. And it is. Open the valve, feel the room. Open the valve... Say goodbye to everything." A lot of work was put melding the concept story with the amazing music and not paying attention to the lyrics feels like a huge loss to the enjoyment of this amazing album.
So here's my take - I'm an old guy that came into the original version and of course loved it. Usually old farts like us get real pompous when someone takes on a song of this proportion and/or we flat out hate it (like Phish's live version, ugh). But this is just fantastic and all I can say is so very well done!
I'm a big fan of a really good cover... If you're not yet familiar with between the buried and me.. the anatomy of and they cover everything from smashing pumpkins to Pantera to Metallica to Queen and then some. And they're all amazing! They basically very closely to some of the originals. But then went all out on some others and really brought their own sound to it. But I feel like I picked the exact right songs to do each with.. their cover of bicycle race is ridiculous. But if you want to check out some of their original I would recommend starting with the video on RU-vid for the coma machine
@@devingillilan4023 Pretty sure it's supposed to be "stone me and spit in my eye" because it's a reference to a criminal being publicly punished and humiliated through stoning and makes a lot more sense in the context of the song.
Tomaso Tenore totally agree! A spice of blast beats and sweep solos too. I honestly think the best cover they did was of Metallica - Blackened because it’s as much BTBAM as it is Metallica. Here it just gets boring.
@@robpiy91 I honestly thought coma was pretty lame..... Soooo this was what, 4 years with the first thing I really liked from them? Sorry if I lost interest.
@@AgustinRodriguez-Bdm Ive listened to it once and the only song I liked was revolution in limbo, i guess im gonna listen to it entirely again at somepoint but idk........maybe I just dont like the band anymore. I think that cd is a joke tbh, especially to call it colors 2, its a slap in the face to the og colors. The few ive listened to the automatas yet, yes I know, Im mad behind in music......anyways, I actually like a lot more than colors 2. So......Go figure.......but yeah idk, this band just doesnt really seem to give me that same feeling I once got from them. I got introduced to this band in 2009 at some point, and then from.........ima say 2010 till shit, 15 when ecliptic came out. They were my favorite band easy. But yeaaaaaa, 6 years, times change.
I personally found their first album to be extremely low quality and the Silent Circus to be very hit or miss, but after that, I agree, every song has been a masterpiece
Pete Wade Agreed, I talked to a couple of them at the cd release show for The Great Misdirect in Asheville, NC. Super chill guys that didn't mind talking to fans.
@@kempokid2142 I personally feel the first album is like by far the best album. It's not a crazy experimental mathgrind whatever album. It's just an amazing solid album. Silent circus is meh. Alaska is when they became what they are now
Didn't think I'd ever like a cover of this track..... you gents have kept the spirit of Freddie intact, while making the song your own.... Great job, KUDOS!
I whole heartedly expected this to be some screamo death core version of this and I’m glad I was pleasantly surprised... as far as covers go this is pure genius both stylistically and functionally. Using guitar to sub some of the vocals is awesome but even the singer sounded amazing as well (he’s no Freddie but the range was there) the guitar playing was very tasteful and not exactly like the classic but a new take on it and I loved how powerful the drums were compared to the original I think I have just found a reason to be hopeful for music again
now listen to the music they actually make and be impressed even more. you might want to start with "Coma Ecliptic" though. Or just go full 100% and listen to "The Parallax II: Future Sequence".
Omfg I didn't know this existed. I've told anyone who know me that br is the most complete and absolutely perfect rock song ever written and only btbam could do this and I'm so happy they did. I'll post more after I hear it all
Honestly I can't really listen to any version of this song other than the original. I happen to enjoy btbam's cover of bicycle race even more than queen's version though which is strange. btbam rules!
Great cover. I have always enjoyed their covers because I feel like they always leave a part of them in the cover. Also am I the only one that got a Cannivla Holocaust/80's horror movie vibe from the intro? The tones used reminded me of the OST from Cannibal Holocaust.
He may not display it as much in this song but in his original work like fossil genera his vocals are seriously comparable to freddie mercury himself. Not sure why he isnt giving it his all anymore. Maybe the masterpiece coma ecliptic wore him out 🙄
I enjoyed it a lot musically but it does lack vocally when compared to the original. Obviously Giles isn't on Mercury's level but despite Giles being able to pull off falsetto vocals they probably made the correct choice to drop all the layers like the original had. You need 4 capable vocalists to do it and BTBAM only has two.
I notice alot of people confuse the high octave singing as freddie....actually most of the higher octave singing was done by the drummer Roger Taylor on bohemian rhapsody
I love how BTBAM have added their own sauce to this. That's what covers were supposed to be not 1:1, what's the point of listening to a cover if it sounds the same as the OG? This is an amazing cover overall, the groove on the baroque part especially (the part after the first solo) was dope
I'd be interested to hear something you guys are actually unable to play/recreate. I just assume you can literally play anything because you are that talented.
Nice. Covers go better when you don’t try to overextend past your abilities. They didn’t stretch for the range or the 570 part harmonies and it’s more credible than most covers.
People are way too fucking worried about music theory, arrangement, sound, can he hit the high vocals, etc. Enjoy it and shut the fuck up, what a cover.
Ok...wasn't sure what to expect, was actually kind of cringing at first...Queen and all. You guys nailed it. Freddie would be impressed. WAY TO GO BTBAM!!
