This right here is the MOST practical way of doing bevels I have ever seen. You guys are underrated AF. I am gonna learn your software to the fullest, make videos and guides and improve your docs. More people need to use this. So tired of wasting time fooling around with topology trying to make things look alright when I just need to get the art first. Create first ! Topology later. Saves so much more time.

Such a tool was sorely lacking for sculpting programs. Now it's a huge + for decent competition. Just because of this tool I will change my workflow. Develop this tool, don't stop!

Love it! Quite amazing tool. One way to make it even more intuitive and simple is to add "show bevel profile on the path", like a loft type modeling for easier understanding of profile orientation. And would be nice to have opportunity to exchange vector profiles with other apps, maybe import/export with pdf, ai, or svg formats.

Just an idea, an additional threshold expandable based select edge tool in surface mode would do this wonders. And if the threshold was automatically adjustable on the fly much like how resizing of a the brush works.

This is something that has been suggested to Andrew (owner/chief developer), but in a broader context (for use with sculpting and modeling). That is to make a copy of the CONDITIONS list menu, in the Paint Workspace (top center of the UI), available to utilize directly inside the Sculpt Workspace. This would allow the user to make and adjust a freeze mask selection based on preselected conditions (ie, MORE IN CONVEX/CONCAVE, MORE ON FLAT/CURVE, etc.). This can be done currently, but the user needs to switch to the Paint Workspace to use the CONDITIONS masking toolset. I will soon record a tutorial showing this technique and another feasible option for rapid edge selection...using the Angulator tool to preselect the Edges > from the Curves Menu, the user can select FREEZE SELECTION TO CURVE > switch to the Bevel tool. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tk3Ig0Y3u9U.html Yes, that is a bit of a work-around at the moment, but that is because the Bevel Tool wasn't designed to use such selection...just curves. Nevertheless, look for some updates in this regard, in the near future, as this will be brought to development's attention again.

I didn't understand how you control the width of chamfer. When you edit the top part of the helmet, spline points are far bigger then the actual chamfer.

right. radius was big but there was also 'radius scale' set to 10% (in tool options window)

The author of the video most likely had already created a circle-shaped curve (it is one of the preset shapes in the Curves toolbar above the viewport), beforehand and just clicked the visibility icon in the Curves Tree panel, to unhide it.

I'd like to use this sculpt bevel tool in 2024. But I could not fond it in anywhere. How can I use it?

The object needs to be in SURFACE mode. To determine if it is, look in the SculptTree panel and see if there is an S icon on the left side of the layer name. If it is a V, this means it is currently in Voxel mode. To switch it to Surface mode, just click the V icon. You should now see the Sculpt Bevel tool listed in the Tool Panel.

@@PILGWAY3DCoat Fixed, I found that quite a few users are experiencing this problem. The reason is that the user interface of an older version of 3DCOAT has been loaded. When I reset the UI, the issue was fixed and I was able to see the option. In addition, I like 3DCOAT very much, which is my favorite 3D software. A suggestion, can you optimize the directory function of the lower voxel tree? For example, the whole group of hidden, this is currently achievable, but the whole group of semi-transparent display can not work, you need to click on the semi-transparent display one object at a time. Hope to add this function, will be a lot of convenience. (Or does this feature already exist I don't know?) thank you

So cool. However I am in Surface mode and it´s missing. Just upgraded to 2022.10. What do I miss?

Are you using the Windows version, Linux or MAC? In the Windows version, I am seeing it at the top of the ADJUST section of the Tool panel, when the Sculpt Tree layer is in Surface Mode (S icon on the left side of the layer, rather than a V, for Voxels).

@@PILGWAY3DCoat Windows, just updated. Still not there. 2 issues. 1. the migration master 2021 - 2022 is still in yellow and doesn´t seem to work. 2. Updates manager also yellow and shows me the version 2022.11, but checked and doesn´t have anything to do with the bevel tool, or? Many thanks

Make sure your Sculpt Tree layer is in Surface Mode, as indicated in the video. It does not work in Voxel Mode.

Have you activated surface mode in the sculpt tree? "V->S" on the layer you wanna use it on, then it should be there. Only works in Surface Mode.

@@harrysanders818 thanks for trying to help. Yes, I have tried it in surface mode, and it is still not there under the "Adjust" tool sets in surface mode. Just to double check, I am in version 2022.05 and on a Mac.

When your selected Sculpt Tree layer is in Surface mode, there should be an S on the left side of the layer indicating it is in this mode. When you see that, look at the top of the ADJUST section of the tool panel and you should see SCULPT BEVEL.

@@PILGWAY3DCoat It doesn't show up, I've tried this several times. The sculpt layer is in Surface mode "S" to the left of the name. and the Adjust sublayer does not change, so no SCULPT BEVEL tool shows up. I'm on the latest build. Could it be a bug? I on Windows 10 if that helps.
