I didn't like what they did to the Andrea character after high school and the teen pregnancy storyline. Never cared for Jessie either. The problem was Gabrielle Carteris was cast as Andrea when she was 29 and she was playing a sixteen year old in season 1. By season four she looked a lot older and it was tough for her to pull off playing a 19-20 year old college girl when she was a grown woman pushing her mid 30s. And then she got pregnant in real life. She did a good job in the role but I feel like she got pushed out due to her age. If they had casted her at 25 she would have likely had a longer run on the show. She pulled off being a teenager pretty well in season 1 and 2 but by season 3 she looked too old for the part IMO.
Agreed but it is what it is...they made it work for as long as they could...even Steve looked way too old by the end of the college years but they just ran with it
I think Gabrielle was a good casting choice, but she would have been better cast as a younger high school teacher or guidance counselor during their high school years. For the part of the brainy, but somewhat nerdy classmate, there were literally hundreds of actresses between 17-25, that they could have found for the role of Andrea, during that time. One actress in particular I can think of for the role of Andrea, would have been Renee Estevez, who was in "Heathers" with Shannen Doherty.
I totally agree even it seems like a controversial opinion these days. They also did her no service by the wardrobe and styling they chose for her (Even pre real life pregnancy). Compare her with Nikki, whose actress was the same age as Luke Perry, they dressed her as a teen. Even without making Andrea more provocative looking, they could have done a better job with styling. I agree, she was fine for seasons 1 and 2 but afterwards it just seems like Gabrielle was miscast. I think a different and probably younger actress would have done more for the character and her subsequent storylines. This was way longer then I meant it to be but this really eats at me man.
LondonCali I read that it was supposed to happen in season 4, but her real-life pregnancy forced the writers to change the plot. Brandon was put with Kelly instead.
hmm, yeah Larry Mollin gave a great interview about his wriintg/producing for the college years all 4 years and he discussed the pregnancy and also the casting of Jesse which he was not involved in and couldn't believe they picked a guy with a receding hairline and big ears lol
Not me I never wanted them together they were to much alike in a way and as they say opposite attract that's why I like him and Kelly together cause he was kinda like class president the guy who's wants to study while Kelly was a party girl. So in my option Andrea would have been better with Steve in fact My sister @ I thought it would be so funny if they had put 2 together that no one would have ever expected and that would be Andrea and steve
@@annwolf2127 delivery day at the hospital . Brandon :"i'm going anywhere until this baby is born"... or when jesse enters, puts an hand on his shoulder like "thanks bro but that's my wife" .... 🤦♀️why darren star didn't bring her back 😩
People are so intent for The Walking Dead that Judith is actually Shane’s baby, so I wonder why not in BH, 90210?! It fits, lol! Unless there is some time jump that was forgotten.
I think the only way to save this storyline is if while pregnant Andrea falls in love with a woman and they create a strong character to be her partner. With the Walsh parents leaving the show, Andrea and her woman could step halfway into the parent role to the gang without actually being their parents, so they could still be involved with college stuff while not on baby duty.
Brandon dodged a bullet!!! U can see the wave of relief that washed over him when the door opened!! Trying to please the editor-in-chief impossible! LOL
I have bitter-sweet feelings for this scene...Andrea's dream to be with Brandon is gone....I think that deep in her heart like a wishful thinking she would desperately wanted to stand by her crush:Brandon!
Being so comfortable with you best friend to argue, make up, laugh, hug AND kiss (tenderly, shyly every stage !). This is the real deal. Didn't it say to marry your bestfriend ?
Ugh. Aaahndrea became insufferable once they all got to college. She was already kind of annoying but in college they really ruined her character and she became flat out unlikable.
