So much from Michele about her and Rick and their lives together and on and on she goes. Nothing about her daughter. And her sculpture is very very telling..she accidentally has a slip of the tongue.. balance with mum. She has a primal wound. No one needs to deal with a caregiver that tells them their feelings are silly that's how we practice regulating our own emotions into the world. Art is definitely one of the channels Scarlet uses to give a voice to her Trauma and the missing Maternal relationship she clear yearns for.

I'm a child abuse survivor and something about this gives me anxiety.

I'm trying (in my mind) to find an explanation for that...but in the end I feel sorry for Scarlet Rouge, everyone deserves a protecting mom in their childhood it's not a child's duty to try to understand all that eccentricity and crazyness but she's done a great job and finally she not only accepts it but also protects Michele And then people say "mother love" well sometimes is "daughter's love" for your own sanity

It sucks she had to wait until adulthood before having a friendship with her mom when her mom could have just been a mother to her as a child instead.

I can't put my finger on it, something just feels off with Michele. What she portrays on the outside is not what is going on on the inside but as I stated, it's just a feeling. It doesn't feel good no matter, and I feel for her daughter. It's sad she didn't have a healthy and loving environment. The balance was off and it is still off. Maybe that's the problem, there doesn't seem to be balance in their relationship, you can feel it.

I understand Scarlett. My father was separated from my mother and he never had a strong relationship with me- so one day I decided to stop being in pain shutting him out, and accept the relationship I can have with him. A friendship. He’s my father and I love him however; I also accept he was not meant to be a parent per se. So choosing to accept this friendship I have built with him truly transformed my life. I do have my dad in my life but in the way it’s meant to be. And I’m more than okay with that. Hes a great grandfather to my son, he gets along well with my husband and I see him every other week. Once I changed my perspective and accepted who he is I git the father I always wanted

The art of rich kids always kinda looks like shit, they try to be edgy but it feels so soulless

i'm guessing Michelle came from a privileged family with no money worries, floating through life, she is very difficult to understand. I can't imagine what a childhood Scarlett had, she seems to have taken control of her own life now and is very grounded. Mother Lamy was an intriguing personality for me, since she is married to the amazing artist Rick Owens. In this video, she seems shallow and yes, self-absorbed. I'm sure there is more in her than she would show, an eccentric outward appearance is often some sort of shield or a way of communicating to the world what the person might not be able to put into words or show through actions. I do think Scarlett turned out wonderful considering that she must have had this partly unhealthy upbringing, "no limits" and maybe not appropriate attention. It is true, most of us have difficult relationships with our parents - but having a mother that despises being identified and treated as one by her own daughter, that must be quite painful. I think Scarlett is finding her way of taking mom like she is, and I hope she's not hurting anymore

Sometimes people takes light out of the gaps instead of bleeding forever, lost in how lives are sadly wasted and never perfect because kids hardly give their parents any credit. It proves that not all is lost, as long as you assume the issue of yourself and become someone better than what the average does. This mother and daughter they flow together and they kind of have a connection most of us wont understand which is not utterly tragic, many families grow together yet they don't stand being together in the same house.

Sorry(not really) and ill probably get some shit for this, but the only artist i saw in this film were the people she called "the stone cutter marble guy" and the rest of the artisans working on that marble furniture. Selecting the material and saying this is what i wanted or isn't doesnt make one an artist, neither does styling yourself differently. I dont even call myself an artist when i go extended periods of time without creating something myself from scratch, and if anyone comments on the way i dress and a friend happens to say it's because im an artist i say not currently im not i just dress different. She is interesting, a true eccentric, i can see how she would and others would consider herself an artist, in my opinion she is rather more her own work of art, and her daughter I really don't see at least not from this film how shes an artist at all.. :-/

They’re really cool and magnetic personalities. I appreciate the way they live lives contrary to what is typical. Their relationship isn’t normal, but most people don’t have ideal relationships with their parents. They’re both interesting individuals on their own. I love the vision and the vulnerability they embody.

I just see really talented business women how inspirational to follow your dreams and make a career out of it it takes guts and determination and so good her daughter has a career with her mum.
