I've heard Madonna live and it's bad. Brittany is god awful. Beyoncé has so much control and soul when she sings. Mariah carey squeaks out her high notes and it sounds horsey. I highly doubt that you've even been to any of their concerts to whitness this. Beyoncé sounds absolutely amazing live. What you hear on her CD's is what you hear in concert + more.

Mariah Carey sounded amazing before her nodules ruined her voice. Madonna never could sing, so that's expected. But Jennifer Hudson, Ledisi, Keke Wyatt, Jasmine S and many other vocalists of today can blow as well, not just Beyonka.

I started crying in the middle of this performance, it was just so moving... And this song isn't even at all relevant to my life! Her voice is just so incredibly beautiful I can't help but be moved when she gives a performance like this! It's amazing what a wide variety she has (I just watched her performance of 'Single Ladies' from the AMAs) She is incredible...

@winwon74 totally agreed beyonce has grown exceptionally, she's amazing at everything she does.. one thing the previous announced artists can't do or have not shown to do is to dance heavy choreography and still manage to hit the notes beyonce does when she performs songs like "single ladies", and "crazy in love"... they are all talented artists but beyonce has proven to be the best!!

@Lafemme17 it is true that Ailee can really sing. she has been quite well known on youtube through her own channels. as it is very difficult for asian singer to debut in the States regardless of talent. so I think she has finally decided to try her luck in Kpop first as more like a stepping stone. As Kpop is getting popular worldwide, this is not a bad idea for her. her dream is actually to be a singer in the States. she is 3rd gen. Korean American but she still has to start from abroad sadly.

@Nawallover1 this song isn't related to discrimination or ethical issues. it is a song about finding a love that breaks down walls and trust issues. she probably cries because of the person for whom this song was written and out of love. and if she is crying in this video, she is probably crying because the photos behind her present so much meaning. after a history of past discrimination and still an ongoing battle for equality, the president is an african american, thus creating hope.

@Xhaterlover like i said, beyonce is a great performer and that is true but if we are going to elevate her to a diva status dont u think we have to be critical with her vocals?! she may be able to reach high notes but the point is... would she sound good? she has yet to sing a couple of serious and powerful songs for her to be considered as one. during live performances she usually dance her way out of a song. i have yet to see her cover songs from any of the diva's for me to be a believer.

Cant believe her voicem seriously. B4 I used to diss her cus I was sure she was just lip syncing. How the hell can any1 sound better live then ALL the todays popstars put together, on their actual auto tuned official releases? She has a command of her voice no pop artists in the whole world can come even close to. Just listen to Katey Petty, or Rihanna or any of that crap, all garbage live and they shd just have left autotuned backingtrack on. I Hate pop, but she is an actual artist with talent

Beyonce is real music and she has always contributed songwriting and producing to her music. I'm a straight guy and think that she's terrific, not only because she's beautiful but because she's one of the best all-around artists I've ever seen in my life. I know that a lot of athletes and actors talk about her as being one of their favorites also. Of course, gay men are going to love her as well because most female artist's fanbases are females and gay guys.

Wow! I'm surprised! I like the outfit! For once she dressed stylishly and with the formality and class required by the significance of this occassion. Usually she is just so OVER THE TOP with all her performing outfits. In this performace, even the make-up and hair and her composure and stature are humble and lady-like! Beyonce, if you CAN do this so well, WHY not do it more often?!

a beautiful song by Beyonce. recently I also watched a Halo cover by a Korean American girl Ailee whose performance was amazing on a Korean music show called singer and trainee. this girl is gonna debut in Kpop (Korean pop music, a stepping stone) very soon. by the way no comparison is to be made here or whatsoever. just enjoy to listen to someone who can sing beautifully.

SLVictoria needs to watch a little more of this amazing female vocalist. Beyonce is the best female vocalist in her genre. She has countless songs and endless performances to back it up. Charice isn't even in her league as a performer. This is a grown woman with every possible virtue a female singer could hope to have. Not even close when you look at the whole package.

@Beyoncefan1000 it is safer to say that beyonce cant be outstaged than cant be outsinged! beyonce is a terrific stage performer and she does owns the stage when she starts to perform but.... in order to outsing her, any artist would only need a mic and a corner and it is done. no need for an entire stage.

@xxquiker And when I saw these (not so good quality) vids of Charice (type "Charice - Halo Beyonce Im Yours Version Musical Overture" or 'Charice Pempengco Singing "Halo" ') singing Halo, I just couldn't help noting: Charice at 17 in the vids, Beyonce 28-29 here? Beyonce will always be Beyonce, & yet Charice sings w/ such soul in the vid, buries u then makes u soar w/ her.

@zanoases She sings her chorus just fine, she has great vocal abilities. Mariah and Whitney don't always sing their choruses live either, so I don't see how Beyonce isn't any good than the two of them. They are all good singers.

Just two things: - the slideshow projection is very inspirational about African American civil rights and desegregation, with President Obama as the closing slide. Pairing such a show with this song really moved me. - the guy playing the guitar also deserves an applause...
