By far the craziest thing WG has done was “fix” CVs earning too much XP by nerfing the XP modifier. It didn’t tell them CVs were doing too much, nooooo it was just a “balance” calculation error.

And on this day in history, ladies and gentlemen, April 12 2021, Flambass finally achieved his years-long quest - he found the perfect method for going down the middle on Two Brothers.

The newly announced cruiser line had me considering returning back to wows. This video reminded me why I quit in the first place, so big thanks Flambass!

Its so funny to see the ships shooting their AA and doing nothing to those planes. Even if they just hover over those ships. Perfectly balanced. Definitly the easiest ship to play in the entire game.

I love how balanced and nuanced cv Gameplay is. It brings so much enjoyment to everyone in the match not just the cv player.

Black clouds song is a MUST HAVE when playing the carrier's man. Like it's an intro OR SUMMAT I dunno, but you need it!!! Or we need it..

As the owner of a Midway, an Audacious, and an MVR this pisses me off to no end just how much better the FDR is than literally every other ship of its class in the entire game... This thing's damage potential per every single strike is like 2x-3x as hard hitting as any single strike from any other CV, and then on top of the vastly increased damage per strike WG thought it'd be a good idea to also give each squadron literally 2x-3x as many planes as any other of its counterparts in the game too... It'd be one thing if there was at least one other tier X CV on the tech tree at all with even somewhat similar strike capability to the FDR, but no, the FDR is so vastly over tuned compared to all of its counterparts that no other CV can even come close to how easy it is to regularly break up over 200k damage in this thing... Pisses me off how hard you have to work in every other CV to even approach 150k damage compared to how simple it is in this abomination. Take Midway for example, you always have to be in complete try-hard mode if you want to net max damage. You have to be always planning ahead selecting the most ideal and isolated targets, dodging AA and flak like crazy because losing just 3 planes already cuts your squadron size by 1/3, and all that effort each and every match just to barely break over 100k damage on average. Then the experience in the FDR is like night and day with even a single rocket strike capable of 14k+ damage with 2 fires, and you don't even have to barely sweat the AA that you fly into and over because you got damn near 20 friggin planes per sortie... The proof of just how OP this ship is is staring WG and everyone else right in the face with non-CV mains like Flambass here a mere 6 mins. into a new battle by the 6:28 timestamp and already surpassing 125k damage, yet WG is still for some reason leaving the thing largely untouched by the Nerf hammer. Despite FDR's very well known reputation for being way OP and despite tons of high damage replays just like this one out there for this ship, WG just still sits there with their fingers in their ears like la-la-la we don't hear or see a thing wrong with it.... Even the MVR has received Nerfs now since its release yet somehow the most blatantly OP CV of them all the FDR remains largely untouched still? Why does this thing enjoy such special status within WG that every other OP ship has been Nerfed multiple times by now, but to this day the FDR remains immune to being Nerfed in any meaningful way? I really don't understand how WG is letting this thing stand as is still in game when so many other ships have received Nerfs.

Yamato, historicly crowded with AA guns and certainly owning more AA guns than a Petro as a cruiser (if this ship even was in this configuration) was destroyed easily, the Petro not. Cause Hurraaaaa.... :/

Every time I think "yeah I might give world of warships a go", I watch a gameplay video with a CV in the game, and go "nah, doesn't look like a game I would enjoy playing". Kinda like if you had a game called "world of guns", but apart from guns it also had lightsabers in it that could deflect bullets. Sure, you'd enjoy it if you like lightsabers, but wouldn't be your kind of game if you liked guns.... Hope that analogy made sense.

Checking back from time to time to see whether its worth to get back into WoWs. What I saw here is Flambass decimating Yamatos with his FdR and the only ship taking his planes down like flies being a russian one. Nothing has changed. WoWs account will keep piling up time on the inactivity timer

Anyone else think an immediate change they could do would be to remove the suicide bombers? Any aircraft with a smoking engine immediately turns back. It doesn’t get shot down unless it runs through more aa but they don’t keep driving home their attacks “no matter what”

I love the game ...............from a distance. It breaks you more than war thunder.

When you can drop on average 15k damage on each cycle with no risk to your self, with virtually unlimited planes, its a problem. Hell, at this point it would make submarines look balanced if they were to get added.

Fun fact everyone, the only part of your AA that matters anymore is FLAK. AA damage is useless do to WG forgetting that CVs do more then just fly around the map. Remember back when the CV rework first came out, when aa damage was random spread? Remember when WG changed it so your AA focuses one plane at a time? Yeah they fucked it up cus all that did was make it so the AA never targets the ATTACK WAVES and uselessly chews though the Squadron instead.

So. I dropped WoWS and.. I can't really see myself coming back to this.. How much "fun" did the yamatos have? Limited is my guess. EDIT: I have to ask.. Did any1 have fun in the game? I couldn't imagine even Flambass having fun rolling his face over the keyboard and killing everything..

Maybe you don't care about that but something ( camo / signal / etc ) consumed Dubloons at the end of the battle to refill. Might wanna check what it is. No need to give them precious Dubloons.

No matter how bad FDR is the Soviet ships in this game are like the complete opposite of anything the Soviets were in WW2.

Every time I watch one of these CV videos I get confirmation that leaving this game was a 10/10, would recommend decision

Seeing that Petropavlovsk have better survivability than tier 10 battleships, I think some nerfs are due.

Well played Flambass. What's really shocking about this video is how grossly overdone the CV exp nerf is. Leaving aside the OP nature of FDR, and CVs in general, it is an interesting insight into how WG thinks. They realize CVs are overperforming, using the very in game metric literally designed to measure in game performance, EXP gain. But, they don't adjust the performance of the overperforming CV, instead, they literally adjust the measuring unit, making the CV earn less, per unit of performance, than other ships. Imagine you are trying to balance two bullets of difference weights and speeds, to make their performance roughly equal to each other. You decide to use ft./lbs of applied force as your measuring unit to compare their performance. One bullet is clearly out performing, in that it has a 30% higher foot/lbs value. So, what do you do? Well, ANY reasonable person either lowers the mass or velocity of the overperforming bullet. What does Wargaming do? They make a special rule, that for the overperforming bullet, mass and velocity values will only have 70% of the actual value applied to the calculation of ft/lbs. Viola!, now the measurements of ft/lbs are equal between the two bullets, so balanz has been obtained. It is so completely out of the realm of anything any reasonable scientist, economist, or programmer would even consider as an option, that we tend to overlook the significance of it.
