I was in middle school when I first saw this, I wanted to play this game and hopefully “it will come out next year”. I graduated and going to college soon and this game is still not released nor any gameplay footage has been released..

For the people who are angry over the lack of story connections to the original so far, you have the right to be disappointed, but this is giving the creator of Beyond Good and Evil a chance to develop their universe. I think a world as interesting as the one this series proposes would be amazing with the level of world building this game will provide. I don't think they should have called it Beyond Good and Evil 2 as it is a prequel, but I'm sure this will set up for the next narrative chapter. Really sucks that there will be more wait for the continuation of Jade's story, but the approach they are taking for this game is allowing for the series creator to display the universe he has created around the original. From what I read, the creator had planned to make a trilogy because of how massive his universe was, so I am looking forward to this. tldr; Really does suck to wait longer for Jade's story for all the original fans, but this game has so much potential for the Beyond Good and Evil universe as a whole.

It's incredible to me that they could release a bunch of amazing trailers for this game only for it to basically go nowhere over the next half-decade and then probably get cancelled.

I've completely lost any hype for this game. Even if it will be released, I got too tired. Also the original team won't be the same anymore. This is one of the many reasons why I can't stand Ubisoft anymore.

Man why would they make a prequel to a game that needs an ending?

I'll never get over this trailer I think, I remember watching it when it was just released and I literally sobbed because I've been waiting for this since 2003. Now 5 years later I know it's never going to see the light of day, and if it does it will not be anything like the first installment. But this trailer, specifically the last part on the ship with Dakini and the swell of music as the title fades in, will forever have my heart.

I was excited when this trailer dropped, even joined that Space Monkey program thing for updates. But I lost interest when I saw they were making it a generic Third Person Shooter and also a prequel, why take one of the best stealth/action games that fans have been wanting a sequel to for nearly 20 years and make it a dumb shooter? Really disappointed tbh. Hype killing the game before it’s even released has gotta be an out of touch developer record.

Date: December 8th, 2023 A few days ago, Grand Theft Auto 6, the sequel to the universally beloved GTA 5, was announced. By this point, Beyond Good and Evil 2 should've been released yesterday.

Its 2021 and still no news, we all are waiting 🙂

For everyone reading the game reviews, unfortunately I have the bad news. I learned today, in the middle of 2021 that the game will be canceled because BUGSOFT(UBISOF)T doesn't want to spend millions on a game that could be one of the best games in the company. I really wanted this game to be created and released, BUT the direction of this company is so selfish, fake, underhanded, etc. that they want to make a game that isn't too expensive and that they keep making money from games like FAR CRY and ASSASSINS CREED .

It's been over 5 years, and though this game is NEVER coming out, I still get chills for the last few seconds of this trailer. When the theme music blasts out from a choir and the ship slowly warms up and then blasts into the unknown. But we can't go with the ship. We're still here. They're gone.

The only games Ubisoft knows how to make are FarCry, Assassin's Creed, and any game they can copy and paste the mechanics of FarCry and Assassin's Creed. Ask them to make a unique game from the ground up and they are stumped 😂
