In the past few decades, telescopes have discovered thousands of objects beyond Neptune, and their orbits have made some scientists think that a massive ninth planet exists. A new telescope in Chile may be powerful enough to finally find it.`

Very much the dilemma of luminance. The brighter something is, the easier it is to see...which is sort of an obvious statement I know. The kicker here is that 'Planet 9' might also be a small black hole. Then no telescope will see it.

That is what I believe. If you look at most of our direct images of other solar systems, you see all these far AU large planets making up the majority of what we can see only because we can't see the inner solar systems of these other stars. In our system its the opposite. We can see all the inner planets but not the high AU planets because of our vantage point.

JWST studies mostly in IR. Its capabilities will be largely useless in attempting to find the planet. That said, once the planet has been found, it might be useful. Its limit on the visual spectrum is about 2.3 times that of Hubble's, so it's an alternative to visual study of the planet if it's found (or if it takes too long, the only viable space telescope with which to do so if Hubble is no longer in service)

The vast majority of exoplanets discovered to date were not found through direct imaging. Even when direct imaging is possible, the exoplanet shows up as a pixelated dot, far too small for any meaningful details to be revealed. However, we know where to look to find exoplanets, but we only have a general area as to where planet 9 could possibly be found. Current telescopes would be able to detect planet 9 assuming we knew exactly where to look, but there lies the problem.

Something has been bothering me about looking for a faint object with a 20,000 year orbit. This video talks mainly about magnitude. What about the issue of relative movement. It seems to me that this TNO would spend thousands of years moving in a direction across the field of view of someone on earth, so slowly, that the issue of magnitude is comparatively minor. In my mind this issue should be discussed in interviews such as this one, in an effort to manage expectations. Perhaps its relative position as earth moves around the sun would be more meaningful than movement over a period of one hour.

With an orbit 20 times bigger than neptune, which covers 28.27 billion km in 165 years with 5.43 km/s, Planet X would need to cover 565.49 billion km in 10,000 to 20,000 years. This translates to 0.9 to 1.8 km/s average orbital speed. Which would be uniform with Kepler's Law.

Instead of wasting time and resources scanning this "large swathe of sky" wouldn't it be easier to send a telescope to land on Pluto or another tno and observe from that perspective rather than trying to look from a trajectory view or our distant view??

Planet 9 is otherwise known as Niburu. It is on a 3000 year orbit and was last here during the time of Moses. Expect it soon.

According to Indian astronomy there are two planets which couldn't see one is rahu and other one is kethu. I think these are black holes. One is our galaxy massive black hole (Rahu) other one may be small black hole near to our solar system (kethu).

At a certain angle of the orbits it almost resembles the eye of ra. In Egyptian heiroglyphs. Makes one wonder if that's the reference we use to find the other planet/s.

Some have suggested planet 9 could be a microscopic black hole. If it is true, it would be even more difficult to find.

As others have undoubtedly noticed, the solar system animation in the opening sequence is weird ... the large outer planet moving faster in its circular orbit than the planets closer to the sun! That's a violation of the laws of physics.

Seems as though if a planet 9 exists it could be found by looking at stars that changed brightness Over a lengthy time the change in star brightness would be in a line that would be the planets otbit. There are probably star chart photos that go back 70 or more years to compare.
