Very weird, I was sure I had replied to this one before. Perhaps I had worked on a reply, and then got interrupted. Anyway, it wasn't too long, as it mainly consisted of a question: what is the third beat? And what would it be here in my song? Once again you make me feel absolutely amateurish by analysing my work in a way that I can't even comprehend the Analysis. I got an idea what you are talking about, of course, but that isn't enough for me.Two weeks later now... did you finish the remaining 5% of your boss music? I fear the day will come when I'll have to use software as well, and deal with things like soundcards. Seems inevitable in the long run :-/About that German speaking guy you were dealing with... my guess is he was either very young and therefore lacked manners, or he had an immigrant background and therefore lacked feel for the German language, or he simply didn't care, or - my personal take on it - all of that combined together. Overall, it's just sad considering the time you've probably invested.

What's the third beat, you ask. Well, first of all, in this context what I said about the third beat makes sense only in a piece of music with a metre of 4 4. That means that every bar is composed of music that is equal to the length of four crotchets, or quarter notes (so, other rhythmic combinations of equal length are fine, like two half notes or one half note and two quarter notes). 'Quarter note' is the American term but it makes more sense in this context, as the second 4 in the 4 4 metre refers to the quarter note as the unit of measurement. If we were using four eighth notes per bar, the metre would be written 4 8. Also, a quarter note in German is called a Viertelnote, which you may have heard, so all the more reason to use that terminology. So, now that we know all that, 4 4 is far and away the commonest time signature in use to-day, and whatever is the second number in a metre refers to the beat, or pulse, which in our case is 4, denoting a Viertelnote. So, traditionally, one would expect to hear something at nearly all times that is keeping that pulse steady. In modern music, this is very often a percussion groove. In older music, it could be just about anything. Clarifying what I said in my last comment here, the first beat of a bar tends to be strongly accented, and in 4 4 the third beat tends to get a secondary accent, whilst beats 2 and 4 are considered unaccented, generally. Beats 2 and 4 do of course often (probably more often than not) have music occurring and notes starting on them, but they tend to feel less strong than beats 1 and 3. So, when I said we're taught not to obscure the third beat, I meant that whilst it would be acceptable in 4 4 to have very little happening on beat 2 or 4, one is generally expected to accentuate the third beat in some way to keep the listener grounded in the music's pulse. Sorry if that's confusing, but it's hard to explain without a piano or something. Wikipedia explains it well enough and uses visual and audio aids. Just occurred to me. Easiest way to explain is that in most modern music, the side/snare drum happens on the third beat, and the entire reason it happens there is not to obscure the third beat. It would be hard to point it out in your music because your music often occupies almost a sort of grey area when it comes to a pulse. It has one, but it's as if it doesn't care that it does, especially this piece. Aaaaaaaanyway, no, haven't quite finished that piece. It's just the final touches mixing it that I need to work on. Certain imitative techniques don't really land because one instrument is louder than the other when it happens. I'll send it to you anyway. Software is great. I can advise you a bit as well. I love building PCs. If you want to build a PC for MIDI work, I can help you with that as well. The soundcard I got is really expensive. You can usually get by with on-board sound using ASIO4All if you need to do. All that said however, your sound as it stands is fantastic. It sounds like a throwback to something I never thought I'd want to go back to, this period in the '90s and maybe into 2005 or so where I could never get my music to sound like real instruments as the technology wasn't readily available yet. Funny enough, now I love hearing it in your stuff, and no-one else is doing it.

I appreciate the support buddy! At the moment I don't have any plans on releasing CDs though. Look, my first album is 100 tracks now, and Vol 2. will be released very soon with the idea to let it add up to another 100 songs over the years. Given the length of the looped songs, which I prefer to keep as it's key for this kind of music, I could fit about 8 songs on one CD. Now if I wanted to translate a digital album to a physical one, this would take about 12 or 13 CDs. Not very convenient and certainly not very efficient. This is a different kind of music here, haha!

New Resident Evil Save Room Music it started (from my knowledge) as a meme (both on RU-vid, Reddit, basically mainstream media) where a RE-fan sang the One Piece opening but with lyric of “Chris wanting Leon to have a child with Claire”, most likely because of how awkward or cute people found their scenes in Remake 2 to be. The video exploded getting millions of views and people overuse the meme on anything RE related now. Combine that with another Leon meme of cheap porn called “No way F*g” (as irony since he is telling that to Ashley), making Leon’s relationship statues a meme in the RE comment section. Sorry for the long explanation, it’s almost impossible to find a comment section of modern RE videos without these memes and new ones, but I do hope they aren’t taking the “who is in love with who discussion” seriously. This are just memes for as far as I’m aware 🤣

Wanted to give you some feedback. I've worked through your list (plus some more) and 'Dream Town' immediately felt familiar. Searched for it on my harddrive and, guess what, from the entire series I already had this specific song. Guess I've heard it when a friend of mine played the game many years ago, I think I even remember the scene, like some simulated/virtual town (or hallucination) where you had to play tricks on the inhabitants until they all suspected each other and started killing their own neighbors, right? Anyways, I agree the Fallout scores are great. Very deep, cold ambient sound, which I probably cannot get even close to with my limited Tools here. But you never know what the future may bring, in any case I got a big load of new inspirations. Thanks for pointing me at this.

I always was a fan of dark/cold/rusty/hopeless ambient music like that of Fallout 1&2 among others but I noticed that there isn't much fan-made stuff out there that i can find... People mostly make songs for Bethesda's Fallouts that sound equally shit as their games look and play, so - no hope there... >:( In other words - no problem, glad you liked it, and yeah - who knows what the future might bring :)
