I like this kind of reviews, straight and honest user feedback based on 1st hand experiences, no marketing nonsense! Defenately thumbs up, already waiting for the next review!
My understanding is that they added the pump to fill the group head with water all the way to the top before pulling the shot. Plumbed in machines have line pressure that does this, but without being plumbed in and without the pump you don't get as much water and therefore a smaller shot volume. I was also listening to John Buckman from Decent Espresso who thinks that a fast pressurized preinfusion is better as it quickly saturates all of the puck evenly. Thanks for the review!
Great user feedback. I'd be curious to see how you feel about the machine after a few weeks or so. I've been eyeing one myself, but because of how high that lever sits, I can't fit it in the same spot as my Ponte Vecchio.
Customers machine, but I'm sure for me I would like it, I have a 2 group lever machine( not bezzera) due for restoration. Will do a video when I get to it
