Tbh, after trying Dark Ranger, it's just so much better for 1v1. The BA procs give a bunch of instants when you're running away from a melee, exhilaration procs a short duration survival of the fittest, and survival of the fittest procs a weaker exhilaration, which is immense in 1v1. Also people can't move out of your black arrow, lol. Imo, Sentinel is more of a yolo bg hero build, where you just PVE the enemy raids, like in epic bgs for example, while DR is more single target focused and has more survivability. If you want to gank people, you gotta go DR, Sentinel just ain't it.
I said this since DF! Warriors as a whole went from their being their usual juggernaughts whose only weakness is mobility, to juggernaughts with the mobility of a ferrari. And hunters went from being the masters of kiting to not being able to kite anything and having to facetank the punches after the warrior just immunes all your traps and sticks to you like glue. If that's how hunters are going to be balanced, at least give us the tankiness of warlocks.
Sentinel feels good but the damage from black arrow and withering fire plus literally a node that gives 20% rapid fire and aim shot damage is way better. On top of insane healing
Would it be possible for you to make a hunter PvP guide video? Trying to break into PvP and decided to do it on a hunter but I’m not really sure where to find guides or any PvP info really
Dark Ranger is worse, lol, AND comes with an extra button, and MM is already a button bloated spec, the last thing it needs is even 1 more button. Also the Black Arrow thing has a 30 sec cd AND needs to tick a bunch of times, and people die so fast in PVP when they don't have a healer, that BA doesn't actually do anything most of the times.
I think so far they are quite equal but different, fairly balanced. Sentinel is more passively tanky with the dmg absorb, as well as mostly passive damage. While Dark ranger is more on demand defensives/heal as well as damage. I don't agree MM is that bloated anyway, we have like very few actual rotational abilities as well as DPS cooldowns. Compared to some of the other speccs. I prefer dark ranger with a single target damage/burst build, but going sentinel/aoe/salvo build for bgs is also insane. Just not my playstyle.
