I am 40. I joined Bharatnatyam classes with my 6 yr old daughter. Your exercise has proved wonderful to make my leg stronger. I have tolerable knee pain though, but that hasn't stopped me from taking the venture...
Waao it's very good beginning..👏.. very proud to read..god bless you with lots of strength 🙏 keep dancing with doughter... you gave me inspiration 🙏I am 32 and dying for dancing.
Well, I have a 69 year young disciple in class who joined two months ago! So age is definitely just a number. If you have the will power and interest to learn, nothing can stop you..
I've been doing your follow along routine for a week now, and my legs have stopped aching when I do it now. I can also hold my aramandi for longer now. Thank you so much!
I couldn't keep up with you entirely. I was able to do 5-7 repititions of each exercise. But it really improved my Araimandi. I am a newbie at Bharatnatyam. Thank you so much for sharing this. I'll incorporate this in my daily routine.👍👍❤️❤️❤️

The only solution is to hold the core while dancing. Check these videos : To avoid the sway : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R8QgO0QKop4.html To strengthen the core : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WF1qS589fvc.html
Fitness in general is for all! Complexity of the exercise you pick depends on numerous factors. Should your kid be doing this routine? I don't know. Should your kid be exercising? Definitely yes! There is no harm. Start them young!
This video has helped in improving my armandi and angashudhi. These exercises have helped to sit in armandi for a longer time and also given a lot of strength to my legs. Thank you Pratibha kini. Looking forward for more such videos. Keep inspiring
I am 43 and (re)started dancing after more than 25 years. It has been such a rewarding journey to lesrn , practise and perform. I have started exercising with your videos now..thanks for the content!!
Hello Pratibha didi , it was tough but it was working , though I am a 11 year old girl then also I thought it was amazing . You are so much flexible and you have so much of stamina . Realy you are nice .
Thanks a lot for that feedback! It is amazing to know you have started conditioning your body at an early age! This is going to help you immensely in future.. And you will definitely get more flexible and have better stamina with practice.. Happy dancing :)

@@sureshkumbhar4357 glad you like it. A very general recommendation would be to not exercise the same body part on consecutive days. Let the muscle recover for a day or two before you hit the same muscle again.
I love bharanatyam and actually started learning 16 years ago when I was 22 but stopped due to knee problems. I would love to start again but have no idea how to because of the knee pain. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do? Thank you.
Firstly find out the cause of the knee pain. Visit a chiropractor. If you already know the cause, start doing things that alleviate your knee pain. Exercise regularly and you will be able to dance again!
If it's muscle soreness, it might be because you have never worked out before and it is normal. You could continue unless it is an injury or actual pain.
Hi , My name is vedaggna , 9 years old When I raise up my legs are not standing straight and they are moving and I am joining in bharatnatyam class please tell me the solution and please share exercise for begginers
Sis u already uploaded tratakas video like wise u could also do some videos about abinaya , concentration, how invole as a character in dance this all pls this is my request
I'm loving this particular video.I was wondering if you could share knee strengthening exercise for people with hyperextended knee. Keep doing you. Sending you lots of love ❤️
Since a hyperextended knee is an injury, I would recommend that you get some help from a physiotherapist. But I could definitely make a video on knee strengthening exercises. Have noted down your suggestion. Thank you and please stay tuned.. :)

Hello Pratibha, a follower of yours from the US. I had a question about all the exercise routines you have posted. I practice for 2 hours every day and I always start it with your warm-up routine (which has been very helpful). If I have to do strengthening exercises, should I dedicate a set number of days to them? If yes, How often in a week should I dedicate to strengthening and conditioning? How do you advise doing the specific strengthening exercise? Any input would be helpful! Thank you.
Hey! Thanks for subscribing! I suggest that you do strength training combined with endurance training/cardio exercises with a rest day every 4 days. You could do stretching and yoga on your rest day. Or it's also ok to not do anything at all on a rest day. You could pick 3-5 exercises from every STRENGTH/CONDITIONING/STRETCHING videos depending on which part/parts you want to work on that day. This is your main workout and could last 15-40 mins depending on the intensity, fitness level and requirement.Do attend my 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 workshop if you need more guidance.
Very nice My daughter is 5 year old, learning bharatanatyam for the past 7 months. She is finding difficult to sustain aramandi/ muzumandi/ tippy toes. She likes to dance though! Can these exercises help her for her age?
Yes, feel free to reduce the number of repetitions if it's too intense for her.. Also best to tweak the exercise based on the difficulty faced by the kid. She could be too young to do all at once..

THank you so much ma'am Pratibha kini!! Your videos are really so helpful.. it's just the 3rd or 4th time since i've been doing this...nd i just cant believe my legs don't shiver the way they used to before...i really thank you frm the depth of my heart 👀❣️... Will always stay tuned to all your videos !!
Hi Prathibha, my daughter is learning bharthanatyam. Her hips and thighs seems to be heavy weight. She can’t stand when she stretches her leg and sits, this is one of the exercise. What is your tips
I did not understand what you meant by "she can't stand when she stretches her leg and sits". Since you mentioned heavy weight, I want to stress that spot reduction is not possible. Only way is to workout and eat right.
Thanks a lot for quick response. I mean for the side lounges exercise which is shown in your video too. She can’t get up after sitting. So she will move her stretched leg to close by to other leg and get up
@@hemavijayakumar3621 ah!! Got it! That comes by practice.. only way is to strength the legs. She could do scaled down version of the same exercise by not doing full depth. Ask her to stop when thigh becomes parallel to the floor. Or she could also do full depth and take the support of a chair/table while coming up from the lunge/squat.
Very much thanks My daughter followed this strictly Now she is doing practice for her Arangetram Thanks She has improved in doing perfect dance and aramandi I do suggest subscribe, like, share and comment this channel Very Very much helpful
As usual, your postures are PERFECT ! You do it with so much ease. That is the real beauty. The added features are your sweet commentary and picturesque location. I always enjoy your commentary and the sweet encouraging words you speak. That's great dear. Ha.....lot of hard work put up by Madhu too. Keep it up ! 👌👌🖐🖐
Keep practising and you will be able to dance longer without much fatigue. Also check this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_a0FOaYH9tA.html. Might help you with knee pain :)
To open your hips, strengthen your glutes, calf, helps you engage your core, to keep your torso upright, to be able to climb stairs without a walker in your old age, if I have to list a few 😊
As I mentioned in one other comment, you have to repeat the routine as many times as you can. So we are doing non-stop plie squats for say, 3mins*(as many times). That itself will be hard on legs, if done correctly. Also I prefer dedicating one day in a week for leg workout.(ps : This routine is "part" of my regime and not the only workout) You must rest the muscle at least for a day or 2 before you work on same muscle again. So if you can afford to do it 3/4 times a week without over straining the same muscle, well and good. Hope I answered your query :)

@@PratibhaKini Hi saw your video. It was awesome. Im 53 and learning bharathanatyam . I do a lot of warm ups before dancing. Your video is really too good and i hope it' ll fetch amazing results.Hats off👍👌
hi akka, i’ve been doing this follow along routine for about a week now to improve my thigh strength and it’s really working! Thank you for this short but extremely effective workout and I appreciate your encouraging words during the workout.
That's amazing! One week is too short to notice changes.. but am happy it's useful.. do continue to workout.. am sure you will reap benefits in a long run 😊
I'm a bharatanatyam dancer. I wouldn't know the pain kathak dancers go through. But these exercises will definitely help anyone and everyone. You might want to tweak them to suit your art form a little. But overall fitness is required for practitioners of all dance disciplines :) Hope you will give it a try :)
