Wow such a nice speech - need a fan of the Kalki’s magnum opus to set the stage - a proud Tamil literary reader. It’s going to be such a huge responsibility for this film crew and technicians to bring this to life. Waiting to see Kalki’s characters come alive on screen. It should be that and that alone. Hopefully it goes beyond typical cinematic rendering of historical stories and captures the realism that these characters and events hold forth in readers minds.

Ponniyin Selvan - Fictional story based on the facts --what is that mean and why it advertised as if it is the real one ??? novel based moive but it is not the real history .... so the writer confirms to all that he got all the rights to write anything as he wish and no one can claim for truth as it is fictional .... so raja raja cholan's real life history known or unknown is diiferent from what this movie shows us .... ivlo varusammaaa reading ku importance kodumaama ippo suddenaaa novel based movie sonna - curiosity varudhu but its just a fictional noval but with real people ...

Being honest...... this film didn't deserve this much of applause and promo compared to *Raja Raja Chola (1973) enacted by Sivaji Ganesan* which unfortunately despite being a financial flop became a cult film. Especially in this they failed to show the authenticity of those days which includes aanmigam (spirituality) , culture and traditions followed by the Chozha Maharajas of those times. A subtle Dravidian politics backed ideological pushover - *that could be observed throughout the film* lacking even showing within grand majestic temples, courtyard and *routine worship of ParamaShivar* is completely contrary to those days. If any account to be believed then it is Marco Polo's account of the Chola dynasty of how wealthy and devoted the people were at that time. I still follow my Grandparents' tradition 🙏 Whose practices were praiseworthy esp. getting up early in the morning to put Kolam, water Tulasi plant light Vilakku etc. prior to even entering the kitchen. Nothing of the Bharatiya tradition has been touched in this film - *it looks more like the 300 film featuring Greco - Persian wars at Thermopylae.* That isn't Bharatiya Sanskriti or culture. Hope another director comes with the correct retelling of the events as they were than this. Expected more but produced by an urban naxal - hence could be understood.
