On hearing this again, a year later, it makes so much more sense as I’ve seen it around me and in me. While I was appreciative then, I am humbled know at how little I understood of what he was teaching. Today I know I understand this so much better, but I am certain that my understanding is just scratching the surface. How embarrassed I am that I ever thought I “got this”, but how happy I am knowing I have grown since then and will grow more as I persevere in my practice and in the nurturing of Metta. I pray others are making faster progress than I am. But I am thankful for how much more I understand in my heart. Thank you to those who make it possible to hear this last year and this year. And thank you to the most Venerable Ajahn. My Bhikkhu Bodhi continue in good health and happily presenting the Buddha’s Asana so that we can all learn and improve our practice and thus our understanding. Especially, to those like me who often seems to think they’ve understood when they’ve barely scratched the surface. May I also say, that of the many talks I’ve heard over the last several years with all their value, and concern for our growth and learning, I think this one may be a truly “MUST LISTEN”. I suggest that the title be updated to say so. Listening to this discourse regularly and repeatedly with an open heart and mind will truly change one’s experience in our time here in Samsara. Let those who have ears to hear listen closely and apply every word to ones life every moment. For in this detailed discourse lies the map to self understand, understanding of our society and what we can do to make peace between what seem to be pulling us in opposite directions. Though in truth it is our own covetousness that is doing that. With lovingkindness for all time! JTI
