I think Manjolika breaks that camera because they captured the raja's happy memories in that camera, be it with his wife during labo ko labo se or the coronation, which made Manjolika angry and revengeful seeing her enemy enjoy his life. That might be a symbolic scene portraying what she wants to do- break the happiness raja has in his new life.

What the psychologist did was psycho drama. A theory in psychological treatment. The conference at which he met the bade pandit ji, he was postulating a modern approach to exorcism.. Which is basically why exorcism etc works in many cases. It's all jungian, collective unconscious etc.. Some body who has studied this might be able to better explain it..
1st of this is a remake of Malayalam movie Manichitrathazhu....I can see about the death theories in comment....to all of them shobana the original actress os still alive and compared to all manjulika shobana is the best. Secondly, the purpose of making this movie by director faizal was that how people make rumors and ghost stories. This movie was made to break all myths.
Two things i would like to say guys, the zehar part doesn't happen before Avani has entered the 3rd floor room, she is the one who scares Rajpal Yadav, because the three people (being Manoj joshi, Arsnani and Rajpal) only go up there with the 'Kalash' due to the fact that the Bade Aacharya was in London. And second thing is a theory I have that Aditya doesn't give into the belief of the paranormal. He says in the movie to the Acharaya that Avani is a girl raised on the stories of the paranormal and supernatural and such. He says, "Uske dimag pe kabu paane ke liye muje aapke Mantra Tantra ki shakti lage gi, kya aap bhoot badha utar ne ke liye muje jaad-phuk vala maahol taiyar karke denge?" He needs the atmosphere in my opinion not the ritual. Avani believes the story to be true, and that she is in it. So to get control over her, and make the treatment work, Aditya sets up an ending she would believe, an ending that would be usually used in a ghost or folk story book Love the show. Cheers

even i felt like if the movie ended with monjulika actually haunting someone after akshay leaves,proving that ghost actually existed instead of it ending like a psychological movie,it would have made a perfect ending for a sequel..amd we wouldn't have got a shit sequel like bb2..my god how i hated that movie!!!

Right these guys didn’t watch the movie properly and making silly theories its funny It’s paresh rawal not rajpal who saw vidya’s shadow in the haweli before shiny vidya introduced bcs they went to see the haweli at night shiny even mentioned there is no theory in it Vidya didn’t try to scare paresh she was not possessed that time And you correctly mentioned the poison thing also amessha brought it after vidya opened the door and possessed she tried to kill shinny with that poison
Folks it sounds cliched but the original in malayalam manichitratazhu is ten times better 😊...not sure if the podcasters watched it in malayalam and hope aome some day they do and have an episode on it
Guys do actual old movies also, like Bawarchi, or Anand - maybe Shatranj ke Khiladi? Masoom is a fantastic film to rewatch - betting it has aged amazingly
