I think she does realize it now, but at the time all she was hearing from her role models and employers was that she had let herself go and was no longer attractive, and that's all they had ever valued her for so now she was worthless. Looking back, she can obviously see that they were wrong and it was very messed up of them to treat her that way and that people always thought she was attractive, but it did a number on her during her formative years.

We were in school together, and I can honestly say Danielle is one of the kindest people I knew from those days. The fact that adults who were supposed to protect and defend her shamed her, as a child actor growing up, and made her feel bad is unacceptable, especially after knocking her character out of the park consistently year after year.
