What do you think of this month's latest tech? Would you like to try the new Specialissima? Let us know below!

£460? For a trail jacket? £460? Yikes! I’ll stick with my Sportful No Rain for this season!

Don't forget it probably costs £15 to produce and £445 cyclist tax. Everything produced for bikers is just beyond stupidly priced.

That new Bianchi is gorgeous! I like they have retained some of the Celeste color, without being full Celeste like some of their traditional paint schemes.... it's just too much for me.

Bianchi did the right thing. I own a 928L, light and quick with a set of 40mm deep carbon wheels when accelerating. But need to work a little bit harder when sitting in bunch of riders with aero bikes. This new Specialissima, looks like one that keep up with the bunch of dedicated aero bikes. 🤣

For cleaning my bike I use a pro blow molded resin container with built in crafted lifting device and an ultimate reuseable specially textured synthetic fibrous skeleton of an aquatic invertebrate...the cleaning solution is blended dihydrogen monoxide lovingly filtered by Sevent Trent and the system powered by an ergonomic and energy efficient bio-evolved hinged delivery mechanism.

Ti hardware looks awesome, and I love some bling, but I’d rather good quality steel fasteners for the important stuff - stem bolts, seatpost clamp, pedal spindles, QR skewers etc.

I’ve been using Titanium bolts for years, cycling peers give me hell over it, but guess who’s bikes look 👀 good still… mine 😊 No corroded bolts, that’s the big plus So yes they are worth it 😂
@sepg5084
@sepg5084 7 месяцев назад
Stainless steel bolts are more affordable and resist rust. The bolts on my bike are almost a decade old and they still look good. Titanium bolts are good for posing tho

Thanks for pointing out that the 6.8kg UCI weight limit includes pedals, bottle cages and anything else you need tools to remove.
@howarddavies136
@howarddavies136 7 месяцев назад
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that why the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt comes with a cheeky retaining screw?
@AllanPhillips
@AllanPhillips 7 месяцев назад
@howarddavies136 I believe so. If it's screwed in, it counts towards the 6.8kg limit so your bike can be that little bit lighter.
@sorenludwig3978
@sorenludwig3978 7 месяцев назад
But how can this bike has a ucl label, when its to light without all this stuff?
@AllanPhillips
@AllanPhillips 7 месяцев назад
@@sorenludwig3978 The UCI label refers to the frame, not the complete bike, and the complete bike with pedals is over the 6.8kg limit anyway.
@howarddavies136
@howarddavies136 7 месяцев назад
@sorenludwig3978 the UCI label certifies the design, not the weight. UCI have rules on tube shapes and fairings, which the frame complies with.

Knowing many of us will never own a house or never pay off student loans, being able to buy fancy rainbow bolts is a small perk that temporarily make you feel like you have the ability to indulge.
@paulmcc2006

The Ti bolts are very nice, only for use on a beautful bike and would be a great final touch. Really like the new Bianchi also. I have the Oltre XR4 with rim brakes in celeste (of course) and think its one of the most beautful bikes ever made. I think the new Oltre is really ugly but the new speciallisma is ver nice, but only in celeste for me.

For me, the best Bianchi Specialissima design is the 2020-2022 design. It retains some of the classic round tubes with a bit of aero tubing for a more modern look. This new model (2023-2024) just has too many edges which takes out the classic feel of the Bianchi brand.
@bikeradar
@bikeradar 7 месяцев назад
Agree with the 2024 model having too many edges, but I guess they've got to innovate to survive. I'd have to say the rim brake design prior to 2020 is my fave. One of those with a full SR mechanical group would be a dream build for me. Liam

🤣I too have an addiction, but mine is titanium and carbon, a very expensive one which I insist I have under control. Let me explain. Last week I had delivery of a brand new 2023 Bianchi Oltre Comp with Veloman carbon wheels and Shimano Ultegra Di2 8100 e-shift, in the beautiful Celeste team colour. I should be so happy as its perfect right out of the box. Step in my addiction within 48 hours! Wherever there is a bolt, its been removed and replace with titanium and even the wheels after my first ride today will be stripped of its components and replaced with a pair of 60/85 carbon TT wheels. If Shimano do a titanium cassette and I'm happy with the 11-30t setup I'll be forking out on that too. So I totally understand your addiction! Brothers in Titanium we are!👊🏻

I think that in some ways there's not enough 'style for the sake of style' in cycling. I've got a front mtb mud guard that I've screwed some bullet schrader valve caps onto in a mohawk style, serves absolutely no practical purpose, but makes my bike look a bit mad max rat rod.

Well, yeah - a RU-vid media company has to churn out regular content to stay in business. An aerospace or F1 channel can get millions of views just because most people like big noisy shit. Cycling channels have to push gear because that is the only topic that is new enough often enough to pay a salary.

Titanium is not stronger than steel. Titanium has a tensile yield strength of 20300 psi, while steel has a tensile yield strength of 50800 psi. WTF people want to spend a lot of money to replace the perfectly good (and stronger) fasteners that hold their bike together with inferior examples will forever be a mystery to me.
