Hi Thomas. As believers we ARE considered "children of Abraham" through faith but that does NOT mean we are recipients or beneficiaries of any of the covenants that God made uniquely with Israel. For example, the covenant that God made with Israel through Moses was a PHYSICAL covenant with physical blessings, but the covenant we have with God through Jesus is a spiritual covenant with spiritual blessings. (See Ephesians 1:3)

Thanks for your reply dear Pastor Paul, but one last thing that I just could never help wondering is that does God love our Jew brothers and sisters more than us because of his unique covenant with them? Are we believers supposed to be supporting Israel in wars with hamas and stand behind everything they do?

Amazing to see Sue with Pastor Paul. You look so lovely together and so comforting to see. I agree that there are many parts of the bible are not always obvious especially when we think from a human point of view. But I do think in Genesis it says God created us to be in His image to create and love like Him through populating the earth and to care and keep order for the animals and plants. He gave us everything we needed. Including the boundary to not eat from the tree of good and evil. God created us in hope's that we will trust Him freely. Now on this side of the fall with disception and temptation all around us it is more difficult to see, but over time God always gives us the opportunity to seek His help as we begin to see the brokenness of this world and within ourselves. We were created to know that He is the greatest source of love and to experience the joy of how His generous and righteous love humbles us even in the face of tragedy, death and pain. We were created to know that He is beyond death and choas and because of His perfect love we and everyone are presently alive. We are created to depend on Him because only He is perfect, but He wants us to freely know and experience His greatness love and perfection. He also created us to keep in relationship with Him despite all the suffering in this life to reinforce the holiness glory and power of His love despite the evil in and around us. God created us to be with Him in the next life and to become greater than the angels. God created us to experience Heaven with Him after this life. He created us to experience the new earth the way it was intended to be had we known the difference between good and evil. God created us to learn that despite all the pain of this life if we truly know His power and love and glory it will all be worth it both in and after this life. We were created to know that God loves each and everyone of us and He wants us to freely love Him back.

God created us to know His endless love and to share it with one another. He created us to truly know and experience the truth and not take the easy way out even in the face of evil. He created us to be as harmless as a lamb for the truth of God's grace instead of a merciless controlling beast.
