You highlight some truly American places that lots of us Americans have no idea could even exist. It would never occur to me to visit some of the places you’ve highlighted, and I can’t help but be impressed by the love and ingenuity put into the creation of such museums. The viewpoints and depictions in this museum are bizarre to me and completely different from anything I’ve encountered so it gave me an understanding of a point of view that’s important to know (as an American). I live in Mississippi and we have a lot of Coffindaffer crosses as well as the new big ones all over the state.

While you were there you should have stopped by the OSR (shawshank) prison. It is right down the road from there.

Carpetbagger, if you like small amusement parks, you should visit Green Bay Wisconsin and come to Bay Beach Amusement Park. Very small, but nice, and tickets are still only 25 cents. Also, the roller coaster there was Elvis Presley’s favorite roller coaster.
