Wow I'm so sorry. I hear about exonerations all the time following the ACLU on social media. I think about how many innocents are in jail because cops and detectives just want a good closed case ratio.
I can't even begin to imagine the pain you, your son, and your family went through. There's so much corruption within the police - it's the same here in the UK. Love to you all from England ❤️
So sorry this happened to your son. I can't imagine the mental pain and anguish you and your family went through during that difficult time. God bless you and your family.
You ask if you would let your baby sleep in a Bassinet carved buy a murder .how do we know our everyday Items we buy we’re not put together or made by murderers rapists ...
From what I know, these “arts n crafts” made by inmates that are low level prisoners. Levels 3 n up (murders n Etc.) Don’t have the privilege to do things like that 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️ don’t be so quick to assume.
I know, right? This genuine little guy popped up on my home page two weeks ago doing well-curated videos on oddities and things, and I got hooked too. An infinite jest thus far.
We just moved from Huntsville there's actually 7 prisons I worked at Ellis, Walls and Ferguson units we loved going all the time take a walk across from the Sam Houston State University and youll see the duck pond on Sam Houston ave is the Sam Houston Museum he's buried by the Mance Park school on 10th and don't forget to go stand at the Statue of Sam be safe be good and keep traveling bro
I have always found prison art so amazing and creative. That furniture was beautiful. Hopefully that lead some to a useful life outside. Keep Safe❤Keep Well ❤
Who’d think prisoners could be so talented? It’s such a sad waste. Thank you for bringing us such good videos Jacob 😊 I love watching these videos, not only can they be educational but they’re so fun too! Well done and keep up the good work Jacob xXx
5:55 as someone who used to work at one of those prisons in Huntsville, it does not surprise me that camera was used up to 1991. Texas budget for TDCJ is low, the uniforms suck, the equipment is cheap, guns are vietnam era. It's ridiculous.
What do you mean underplayed, the museum is partially meant to show how bad prison is. For example you can go inside the replica cell and feel how uncomfortable the beds are.
@@jacksonhester163 I think they might be talking about things like human rights abuses that still occur in jails very commonly to this day. Inmates still get beat by COs, they also face retribution by COs in the form of contrived "shots" which can extend prison stays, and they also get murdered in jail plenty when it's the CO's jobs to keep an eye out and make sure everyone's safe.
The model of “leather restraints” in the display case are still used in many areas, one of which is on lethal injection gurneys. The Humane Restraint company, in Wisconsin if I recall, made/makes these. Where I work I had to repair some of these after years of service. They are very solid, yet relatively soft; humane… Good episode!
Very interesting museum. I loved the beautiful furniture the prisoners made. Yes. Id love to have it in my home however the electric chair is the one furnishing I do not want. Loved the Karla Faye Tucker stamp. Would love to get one. She did not deserve to die. She was reformed for sure.
I used to visit a friend of mine who went to prison for five years for driving drunk because he hit a state trooper car after leaving a birthday party in 1982.
I’ve been to the prison museum before in Huntsville. It is very interesting to see all those things, but when I ran into old sparky, there was something that just would not let me stand to close it (even being behind the barricade). I normally don’t really get intimidated but something just kept me at a distance from that thing.
Love to see your take on the Alcatraz east crime museum in Tennessee. Went there recently, it was great! They have prison history, as well as the history of forensics!
These places are so interesting. Ive been to Alcatraz East after seeing your video on it. I myself have never been in prison but ive had family members who have and my son has had a few friends who have been locked up; some with 2 and 3 numbers. We dont know what kind of items we use daily that may be made in the U.S. prison systems.
I went there for a school field trip He's so people getting prostate process in and tour of the main building it was not fun for the rest of the prisoners and we also got to talk to some prisoners and
It makes sense that prison craftsmanship is good - I mean, what else are they gonna do? They have a lot of time to work on it. Plus I imagine there's a lot of really crappy prison artwork that just gets tossed.
Years ago, a friend of mine, who was a prison Barber, witnessed a murder by stabbing, in the Barber Shop. The inmate used a handmade knife to commit the murder. Needless to say, my friend walked out and never returned to the prison.
Spent 3 weeks in Huntsville, and 3 months in the boot camp program as a kid. No issues. Spent 2 weeks in Dallas county jail, before going to boot camp. Never been so terrified in my life. Over 20 angry men in an 8 man tank. It's not prison where you have to be scared. it is county jail. I had to make deals and put money on a guys books to keep things out of my butt and a safe area to sleep. Pay your tickets in Dallas. I'm 50 now. Boot camp did not scare me straight, but Lew Sterrett sure as hell did!!
Please go to Mansfield reformatory in Mansfield Ohio when you get a chance! It’s a very interesting place to see! That’s also where they filmed Shawshank redemption.
HuntsVegas! The Walls Unit aka death chamber is located 2 blocks from Sam Houston State University. Walked over for one execution, quite interesting to watch news folk/protests outside.
Hey Carpetbagger! I think you're amazzzing!!!! I love all your videos, you need to come to Canada more and maybe visit Canada's Wonderland. It's a pretty cool place! From one of your biggest fans, Missy.😄😄
Omg your on my side of town! I love that museum too! Make sure too check out the Sam Houston memorial museum as well! I worked in Ellis as a Correctional Officer for about a year. My husband still works as a Correctional Officer at Eastham and has been one for the past 10 years now.
Sadly its not much different now at all. Have a friend who is in jail for trespassing & is treated the same as inmates who did SERIOUS crimes. The food is the same, commisary items are the same (no fans or radios in our jail tho.) They're only let out for 2 hours a day & cells are even a bit smaller then that one in vid. The mentally ill inmates dont receive the help they need; its just sad. Our system is bad up here in WA state.
lol I went to Texas prison for 18 months in 2016 for shrooms. The Walls is the oldest Texas prison and it's named that for a reason. You walk in and it's 4 floors of prison cells. Looks like two walls of miserable. Most of my prison time was in the transfer centers, metal buildings that house short timers. 55 men to a tank, 2 TVs, 4 toilets and 4 showers. Anyway sub to Texas Prison Stories if you want some actual Texas prison life YT.
My mother used to volunteer at a federal prison for women, with sewing and knitting to help the prisoners with life skills and home living skills. I asked her, "Why are you doing this? You don't have to volunteer at a prison." She told me that was the Christian thing to do. Sadly, she had to stop volunteering there because the warden started giving volunteers in the community coming in to volunteer a difficult time such as canceling volunteer sessions and more.
Epic Destination 💪 County and Regional Jails are bad enough , that will hopefully be the extent of my 🔒 up days. That Bonnie N Clyde gun was gorgeous man.
