Biblical Style Clay Oil Lamp 

I had no idea olive oil burns. And thank you for this video. I always wondered how these types of lamps worked.

I inherited one of these lamps from my mother-in-law, who lived in Turkey before the WWII. In those days you could dig up archaeological bits and pieces (although I understand why you can't nowadays). I often hold it in my hand, wondering about the people who made it/used it (because it was buried quite deep she felt it was hundreds of years old - if not thousands). I never thought to light it, so might give it a try.

In 2017 Jesus Christ healed me from blood cancer and in 2021 He healed me from headaches and intestines issues. Halleluja!

Do you trim and pull the wick after each light?

Will the lighting of this Lamp, crack, the Lamp.

@legacyicons do you perhaps know what material the wicks where made of in biblical times? Perhaps linen or flax?

Hi, i'm wondering what type of wick needs to be used in these lamps, am not having much luck with the wicks i already have. Thanks

We have one of these. The clay is porous and it will seep out the bottom of the lamp.

Would the old rite wicks work?

When shit hits the fan I want a couple of these things laying around. Romans definitely had it together. ROMA INVICTA!!
