While in Valencia to give a presentation, a number of us had the opportunity to get an inside tour of the Biblioteca Valencia (Valencia Library). Beginning as monastery, transformed into a prison, and finally a library, the tour was very impressive. The librarians/archivists were very proud of their Don Quixote collection. We got to see one of their oldest books too -- a treatise on the Black Death which included in the back receipts from a doctor to patients for treatments.
