This was the route I was looking forward to the most from the tour. The plan was to take Debbie to the New Forest, but as we had five days, I was able to meander around taking in lots of sights on route. I even sneaked in a 20% climb to tick off on the 100 climb app. Debbie said this was her favourite moment as her sense of accomplishment for getting up this hill and experiencing the views that we earned the hard way, were well worth the effort. She’s keen to go again!
Thanks Steve, the view at the top of Grange Hill was worth it for sure. I was suffering at the top of Kingston, it took me a while to realise what an epic view of the Castle we had. I’d put everything into the first climb, there wasn’t a lot left after that. The ice Cream we had over looking Swanage and the Isle of Wight perked me up until we got to the Ferry. If you liked those views, wait until tomorrow!
Thanks Mike! It was a Komoot special, on. Ike touring mode. It all started really well, just a nice gravel path, which then turned into a bumpy field. To be honest I was petrified I’d get a puncture riding through that scrub, but we got away with it!! 😂 The missus wasn’t best impressed anyway!! 😬
Enjoyed that one Darren. I remember Corfe Castle and Lulworth Cove when with the cycling club down there in the 60's. You took a good shot of Corfe Castle from a distance with the sun shinning on it, looked great.
The views at the the top of the climbs made it worth the effort. Thanks Malcolm, in the first video I was a bit nervous filming in front of the missus oddly, but relaxed into it as the days went by as she embraced the trip and was clearly enjoying herself.
