Please excuse the wrong voice over regards SAN Parks Augrabies camp site. Besides no pensioners discount, they would not allow me to put my tent on the lawn, but on the sand, which was dirty and a wind was blowing dust all over the place. This sand had been camped on for donkeys years and seriously needed a clean layer of real sand. I could not charge my cell phone on a normal plug as they had the big blue caravan plugs and said I had to purchase one from the shop, which had very overpriced groceries in it. Every other camp site I tented at was by far better than SAN Parks camp site, and I suggest staying at a private camp site and enjoy a great camping experience with nice lawns and private ablutions, and just pay as a day visitor if you want to see the falls. I think R67.00 per person or close to that. Every private camp site went out of their way to ensure quality camping, especially Khamkirri and Grappa Lake.
This video was interesting with the farmers telling their story. I learnt so much about table grapes! The watering reason and temp difference was mind blowing!
Thanks for another inspiring episode along the Orange River. I wonder if by chance you rode past Jars Malan, another U-Tuber who farms dates and figs on the banks of the river. I look forward to your next episode. Stay safe, stay inquisitive.
Since about 5 years ago, we also stopped supporting Sanparks because of their ridiculous rates for local pensioners. As you discovered, there are many cheaper and much better alternatives. You do indeed stop to smell the roses along your route, Richard.❤
The lady in the padstal made me chuckle when she asked if you wanted hot or cold milk with your Americano! You are meeting some interesting characters on your journey. I am from KZN but am living in Cambodia.
Richard, awesome video, the Orange looks like a green vein running through the desert bringing life to the area..unreal and some really cool camp sites! Look forward to your next edit!!
