Ever since I started creating RU-vid videos I have wanted to return to the Mesabi Trail. I consider this to be the crown jewel of our many wonderful bicycle trails in Minnesota. Our second day of five days of riding was the section of trail from Embarrass to Biwabik and then taking a spur out and back to Aurora, which we have never ridden. It did not disappoint and was another beautiful ride on the Mesabi, although a bit hilly. There are not many facilities along the trail so make sure you bring enough water and food.

I've gone back and watched some of your older videos when you had your Liberty and pop-up camper. Do you no longer have either, and did you get up that kind of traveling for the ease of hotel stays?

I still have the Liberty which I really like It is a 2012 which is the last year they made them. We gave the tent trailer to our daughters family as we were not using it any more. It did not have a/c and we like having a nice bed and hotel room instead. We have thought about getting a hardshell camper but the economics are not all that great. The break even point between a camper and staying in nice hotel rooms is about 24 months of continuous use. Plus many places you might need to camp while traveling may not be all that nice. We do miss the camping vibe though and especially that campground in Whalen on the Root River. Thanks for watching the older videos.

@@RichardMooreAndJulieMoore I also have a Liberty. It's a 2005, so I don't know how much life it has left. :-) We (wife and I) live in MN, too. We have ridden a lot of the trails you have. We rode the full Mesabi in 2013. We'd like to go back up and ride the new sections. Please keep the videos coming. They're enjoyable and informational.

Such beauty and remoteness. I am impressed with the quality of the trail, bridges, fences etc. Is there a threat of wild animals in these areas? Are there many recumbent trikes seen on your tours? I lived in Wausau WI about 20 years ago, riding most of the state trails in Wisconsin plus my all-time favorite, the Root River system in Minnesota. Here in Pennsylvania we are not so blessed.

They have done a very nice job building the trail and they seem to have a good plan for keeping the trail maintained. I believe the mining companies are putting a lot of money into the trail via taxes. There are bears, which Julie saw one of during our first day of riding. Unfortunately, I had stopped to take pictures and missed it. There are wolves but they are not really seen and coyotes along with deer and moose. We do see some recumbents on our rides. The Root River is one of our favorite trail systems, check out our videos from a couple of years ago on that trail. That's a bummer to hear that Pennsylvania does not have a good bike infrastructure to showcase the natural beauty of the state. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Love your videos. Very well done. Do you have a video from a ride in the Dassel, Cokato, Hutchinson area? Dan

Thanks, glad you are enjoying our videos. I do not have any videos of these areas. The only bike trail I know of in that area is the Luce line trail that goes from Minneapolis to Hutchinson. Some friends I ride with tell me it is very nice. We had hoped to do a ride out to Hutchinson this summer but summer is getting away from us. Thanks for watching and commenting.
