Bicycling on Alameda Island in the San Francisco Bay 

Alameda Island is just across the bay from San Francisco but I seldom go there. It has two distinct personalities: the former Naval Air Station and a residential area. Also, there's a sweet, short ferry to it. So I decided to give it a try on my bicycle. Ferry + bike = excellent!
