Such an awesome video. Brought back some really fun memories of my time on that trip. Made miss Chris and all the friends made as well. Thank you for sharing and glad you enjoyed trip also!
Love it David! So glad you enjoyed your trip last week. The weather looked great and your cameras really capture the beauty of the two National Parks. Thanks for sharing!
It was a memorable trip and I've come to appreciate the thought and hard work that Western Spirit puts into these trips. Thanks to everyone on your crew especially Anna, Chris and the others whom I've ridden with.
Incredible. Love the stretch through the lava field along the lake. Mother Nature has made extraordinary sculpture in those canyons. Thanks for sharing yet another wonderful bikumentary, David!
We're lucky to live in a country with such magnificent landscapes! Hoodoos, lava beds and massive cliffs help keep you guessing. Bikeumentary - Love it!
You did have a beautiful day to ride. I rode it once as a bikepacker from SF to LA, and once on a weekend ride to Lime Kiln State Park and back to Big Sur.
I just held the GoPro down and panned. I couldn't see what I was getting, but it's a very wide angle lens so experience tells me that I get something! Also, image stabilization is amazing these days.
I missed your comment, you must have ridden it by now. Hope you enjoyed it! We had tremendous wind on the first night--or two--but then it got beautiful. Thanks for watching the video.
Yeah, I like doing them, but monsoon and now a lot of other travel are a distraction. But a welcome one. That said, I hope I can find time for a couple more videos.
Also, would be great if you could add some state: how many miles you rode, how long it took you, whether it was mostly flat or hilly, and maybe even a map of the route. That way people could follow in your tracks :).
I think the tracks were for logging. And some of the connecting trails were from mining, too. They're developing old mining trails for biking and hiking all over the "Lost Sierras". Beautiful, in spite of the fire damage.
So glad you enjoyed your White Rim trip David! And this video is really something else! The video quality, music, editing and everything is way more than your average home video. You've got a real talent at storytelling. Thanks for sharing and hope you can ride with us again soon!
You had a beautiful day for the ride. I've never been to the Sausalito VOR before, bicycles used to be prohibited from that part of the trail above Old Springs Trail.
Yeah the weather was terrific. As you can see, there’s zero security there so I’m guessing this is an outmoded or redundant navigation technology. The views were sensational.
A whole new experience for me, I haven't been to Alameda since the Naval Air Station was active. (never any Air Force there that I recall). The ferry ride was quite scenic, and you had beautiful weather too.
The ferry rides really are beautiful. I think Eileen might enjoy it on an ebike. It's flat and the northern side--the NAS--is empty. Plus you can ride to Wally's community center!
All of Rathod's bike videos are fun and informative, and as a longtime SF resident I can say he's showing me aspects of the City I never before noticed and appreciated. First rate!
Brilliant! Is this all shot just by you? I love the long distance scenes where you ride up to and past the camera. You have caught extraordinary footage of San Francisco. Nice smile when you say “halfway to the stars”. More please (and more smiles too😉).
Did this ride once from the Pittsburg Bay Point BART to downtown Sacramento for NAHBS. There was an absolutely devastating crosswind for the entire ride on 160.
