For y’all that don’t understand 😭 She opened the letter to see what sorority house she got accepted in, and she ended up getting into Alpha Delta Pi, not “pie” a sorority is like a big college club for girls (then u obviously got fraternities)
I'm not American, so I don't understand a lot of this - only stuff you get from series and movies. So is it right that there are "better" sorority's or at least ones with better reputation? And if so, is alpha Delta pi a good one?
Every year new students get "rushed" by sororities and fraternities. The "bid" is the reveal of which you are chosen to join. It's the beginning of social clubs and charity causes and sisterhood or brotherhood friendships. May of these friendships last lifelong and being a part of either is designed to help with networking, tutoring, mentoring and establishing who you are going to be and what your value system is going to look like.
congratulations !! , to everyone who doesn't get it :: basically a some women including Ansley apply to a sorority house it's a college club that women apply to in college & there a alot of them from the worst to the best , ansley applied to a few and she got chosen for alpha Delta PI , which is actually a really good one by the way
This is whats happening. Bid Day is the last day of sorority recruitment when potential new members “run home” to the sorority they received a bid to and they officially become new members of their respective sorority chapters.
@Alannah_Trovato it like a group of girls in collage that all share a house together they throw parties and and all “sisters” or something but they’re just like best friends (of what I know)
@@Daddy_Dave_lol I thought about the math thing pi I got confused lmao but now that u said it like that I also want pie and I now found out that there is a pie emoji 🥧
I was in a sorority in college and I still don’t understand the culture hahaha. One of the most bizarre things I’ve ever taken part of was recruitment weekend. It feels like a fever dream.
@@saisriram7775 and how do you even get popular in these colleges? My college has thousands of people who just go to college and then leave like how do they even get popular when no one really talks to each other outside of class. It's nothing like high school tbh
Whats terrifying is moving in early as a freshman and then walking out of your dorm to hear screaming near by. Only to realize that is coming from a sorority house near your dorm. Those girls are so loud. I thought someone was getting attacked
Respect for trade schools. We need more tradesmen (and tradeswomen and tradespersons) to keep this society functioning. Whatever is going on in this video I'm pretty sure we got more than enough of.
Sometimes i think most of those events are so hyper not because the event actually has such a meaning but because thousanda of people are pushing each other to feel higher and higher emotions
@@sab-nm9di teenage girls usually live way worse then boys. dont get me started on public bathrooms. its like girls forgot how to use a toilet when in a club, ive seen girls swat on the toilet seat for example like wtf 😂
@@sab-nm9di the chairs and rooms were AWFUL. I didn’t like wondering what they were doing on those oddly stained chairs and sticky floored dorm rooms :(
To everyone that needs it: A sorority is basically different groups in college of girls that are “sisters” but are basically just all friends living together in the same house.
Alpha Delta Pi, originally called The Adelphean Society, is known for being the first secret society for women. The founders created The Adelphean Society for the "mental, moral, social, and domestic improvement of its members".
People in sororities and frats have no concept of real life. Going away to college is already a privilege. Then you meet these dim people in these clubs and you really see how far removed they really can get.
I feel like people who join sororities are just craving to be back in high school again, it’s really sad Edit: why so many people mad in the replies like damn, have you ever heard of someone having an opinion lol? She can do whatever she wants with her life and I can do anything I want with my opinion. Not only are sororities/frats sad but a lot of them are literally groups of awful people who do awful things to others just for power and status. It’s stupid and harmful, sure not all are like that but a bunch of them are. Grow up and face reality
I mean a lot of them just left high school so it's not weird. Also making friends as an adult is harder so why shame girls looking for opportunities to make friends and not be lonely in their new school in their new adult lives?
Sororities and fraternities are sometimes really helpful in getting a good job out of college. Everyone I know who was in one landed an incredible job even before graduation making a fuckton of money. The ones who weren’t in one had a hard time finding a job and if they did get one it didn’t pay nearly as much money.
Not in the US but we have a version of sororities here - my friend tried to recruit me into hers when I was in university but when I asked about the costs involved she admitted that it cost more than tuition for the entire year AND she had to commit 10 volunteer hours per week. I found that absolutely bananas.
here in my country, frats and sors are very infamous..the youths are highly discouraged from joining one as there were some members or aspirants who died from hazing..idk tho if the entrance have the same style as urs over there
@@thebaddie3682 a bunch of people go through rush week, where they go to all the houses and meet the all of the “sisters”. then i believe they pick the houses they want to get in / go back to and then at the end of the week the sorority comes together to decide who they think is the bet fit. All the girls in the room in this video rushed, and this was them opening the letters on bid day. The letter tells them which one they got into. She got into Alpha Delta pi
Being from England neither helps my understanding for sororities or how you get it but thank you for the explanation comments section. Well done ansley x
It’s not important, it’s for a sorority which is where you pay thousands of dollars to live with fake friends. They only let certain people in, usually if you are a minority you are an automatic no, which is usually why girls in sororities are mainly white
As a member of a Fraternity, belonging to a group of friends I call Brother, CONGRATULATIONS in getting into a Sorority. May your new friends, Sister continue to help you grow on your journey!
@@choochoo3711 Per Google definition, A Fraternity is a group of men formed around common goals and aspirations, calling each other Brothers. A Sorority is a group of women and ladies formed around common goals and aspirations, calling each other Sister.
I once watched a sorority day in the life for a sorority at my university (i was actually looking into the LMSA and somehow ended up at the Delta house on youtube instead lol)... One of the top comments very much resonates with me to this day. It read, "These girls live such a different life than I will ever relate to or understand." Lmao
When my kids went to college they had zero interest in sororities/fraternities. I did my job! Told them I would never consider those groups. It's for kids who can't make friends on their own. That's my opinion. I know people are needy, and want to belong to some kind of group. I raised powerfully independent young adults. Proud of them!
I just entered college a few weeks ago, and the whole Sorority and Fraternity rush thing is so crazyyy, I can’t explain it, you just have to witness it
At my school usually you just hang out with people you like and if they are in frat they will invite you to join. Committing 4 years to a group of people you don’t know seems wierd.
The funniest thing about this is you can pinpoint the exact moment people started seeing their sorority and the level of excitement increasing the more people managed to figure out how to open it 😂
Congrats on your sorority! I hope that the one you got in is a really good one. I've heard a lot of sorority horror stories, hopefully the sorority house you go in isn't one with a bad rep. Again, congratulations! 🤗
Meanwhile fraternities *mid party “hey bro I saw you dunk that sick beer pong shot, and you been hittin up that baddie over there, shotgun this beer and we’ll offer you a bid.”
For the people making fun of this, the methodology they employed is exactly how medical students find out where they matched for residency. We call it Match Day.
@@B-.-.. she got into a sorority house basically its usually a nice big house that typically rich college kids get to live in dure their time at college instead of staying in dorm rooms.
The hmmmmm what friends did i pay for day😭😂 sorority and frats are just places for people to buy friends when they cant make em on their own. Buying into a community usually means its a toxic environment
She looks happy so much hate in the comments why? I had a few friend that went to university their parents pressured them from birth, they seemed to not have all the fun I did not working towards that goal in HS or being pushed constantly. Now I had to make it up in the Navy, it all worked out but nothing comes easy folks. Matter fact many translucent Americans are eligible for free university, why they dont take advantage of that baffles me, maybe because so many tell the translucents that the world hates them.
Thats good for you ig. Personally I'd just want to focus on my classes instead of setting myself up for hazing and commitments that'll just be getting in the way of my education but you do you sis.
In my school fraternities hand you your bids directly, in person, and you can get multiple from whomever is interested in you. We would NEVER get the school involved with an assembly and have them decide which one you got into. I hope that this isn't the case and all these lovely ladies got to go to the house they were actually interested in. This comes off as a "you only get one" deal. Or what if no one likes you, you get a bid anyway?
Frat/Sorority houses are just big houses of people I'm trying to avoid. They did me a service in that they all live together. Now I just can't go to football games, bars, and that's probably it.
