In European (and probably also most other) countries they can decide to do a new election now and have it within a couple of months. In the US a whole circus of 2 years to get to two old men (known half way the process) most don't want. A bit more flexibility would be helpful IMHO.

What kind of look is it for media elites and party insiders to just anoint another candidate against the will of the people? And the shocking thing to me is that some of the strongest “replace Biden” voices, are also the people who were crying that the DNC stole the election from Bernie and anointed Hillary and Biden the candidates. Now they are out here literally advocating that the DNC steal the nomination from Biden.

No one wants Biden to step down more than me, but some of the comments here are ridiculous. People who can't even put a proper sentence together in a short written comment are suggesting that Biden is one step away from being a vegetable just because he had a terrible debate performance in a high-pressure environment. Yes, he is past his prime and not the strongest candidate to defeat Trump. However, let's not overstate his difficulties. He's still way more capable than a lot of the people commenting here.

Absolutely. The problem with American Democracy as we stand right now is old. You got 75%+ in Congress, Senate and House that are all 70+ years old. How on earth are you gonna maintain the young people in this country's interest when people that old generally have 0 clue how to connect to young people. Absolutely younger generations need to be given the ball. Why cant someone in their 40s be President of the United States. Someone that is charismatic and you know has the energy to carry on future generations. I wholeheartly believe that Biden is the most qualified person to do the job, given his 52 years in the public, including 8 years as Vice President of the United States and 3.5 years as the President of the United States, and most importantly, what he has accomplished in 3.5 years. I think that the Media should actually evaluate Trump's performance, his incoherence, etc etc, as well as what Trump has actually done in his 4 years in office with the public

There is irony to the Tom Brady analogy. Drew Bledsoe was qb for the Patriots but was injured badly in late September 2001. A young Tom Brady stepped in and led his team all the way to the Superbowl.

2 issues with the Tom Brady analogy. 1. Brady was essentially forced out by Belichick an old guy who couldn't let get of power and accept the changes and failed because of his refusal adapt. 2.
