Im in Detroit and I sit on my neighborhood committee, I was on my district committee for years until we got Twitter fingers Rashida and I’ve been heavily involved with the Black Caucus. I’ve been to every convention in Michigan since I was young, Black folks here were ALWAYS loyal to Joe bc he was loyal to President Obama and he has ALWAYS forged relationships in Black communities. He respects the congressional Black caucus and they respect him as well. President Joe Biden was THE front runner in polling as soon as he declared and he was ALWAYS polling the highest w/ Black voters. His polling didn’t drop until all white states voted and folks thought Bernard was the front runner despite the fact Bernard lost Iowa and performed worse in NH than he did last cycle. Bernard Also won a caucus in Nevada and caucuses are non Democratic. Most folks can’t spend a half day or all that time going to caucuses, so they don’t get to vote. Joe was always gonna do well once Black ppl started voting and that had nothing to with 45. I knee Joe was gonna win here months before he won every county here. I knew bc I was on the ground. 💁🏾♀️

Bernie lost because his people didn't show up to vote. exit poll after exit poll shows this. young people who make up a disproportionate amount of his base are not voting they are staying at home. While the DNC may prefer Biden they are not making people stay at home instead of voting for bernie. Blame the Bernie campaign for not doing more to broaden his base and energize them to the polls.

People voted for a Biden out of fear that the change is to extreme, that we will lose down ballot elections. Fear won out over bravery. And it should be just young people that should vote for Sanders. I’m 36 and voted for him. But agree that younger voters should come out in greater numbers since its them who these elections will effect the longest.

@Danny Ferrara While the democrat establishment has clearly indicated that they support Biden over Sanders (which I can't blame them for considering Sanders' policies are pretty far from most moderates in the party and the fact that he technically isn't even a democrat but an independent), it is up to the democrat electorate to choose a candidate and until it looks like they do in fact want Biden over Sanders as well. Biden has until now won more votes, states and delegates than Sanders and there is nothing to indicate that that will change. Like it or not, the people are currently choosing Biden and if he becomes the nominee it will be because of the people and not the establishment.
