Guy, you are dead WRONG. BYU is very easy to find parking, easy to find your seat, the atmosphere is excellent, food easily available, wheel chair access is good. They are way HIGHER on your list.
He's mad because BYU cops confiscated his bike because he thought it was ok to just chain it up anywhere he wanted to on campus... people learn about those BYU cops the hard way
The way they have maintained the Marriott it still looks brand new. Ranking the Houston, TCU, UCF, arenas and several others above the MC is ridiculous. The original Marriott Center seated over 22,700, now it’s searing is down to 17,990 but much improved. Your obsession with natural light is whackoo games are mainly played at night. I’m an Arizona State fan and grad but I’ve been in all the MWC and PAC arenas as well as the Marriott Center, which I would rank tied for best with the Oregon facility.
You should have ranked the Arena's of the schools by experience, effectiveness of the fans, which schools have the best home advantage. Your aesthetics is very individually opinionated and fails to take into account the real value the different arenas have.
I’m a UH Coog and I need tell you….You all have a BEAUTIFUL arena!! I had never seen it until this year. Nestled in the mountains, huge capacity, and frighteningly difficult to play in.
@@noelramirez1551 The UCF interior is so bad, it outweighs the decent exterior. By contrast, the BYU interior is so good, it outweighs the bland exterior.
I was expecting a rating based on experience, crowd energy, home court advantage ect. Not based on your personal opinions of aesthetics, that almost no one is going to agree on. Who the _____ cares. What a waste of time.
He hasn't even been to any of these places. He literally just based it all on what he sees on television and in pics. He bashed the extrerior of the WVU Coliseum. However, it is an absolutely gorgeus structure. He also said, the WVU Colisuem has no upper deck. THat is 100% false. He is clueless.
Sooo much nicer than the TCU dump he has above it. He has some really odd observations and rankings. Sometimes he'll say something then the next sentence what he says contradicts his previous observation.
The Marriott center is most definitely bland on the outside, but I would dare to put the in-game experience and atmosphere up against any in the Big12. The students are all very involved in the game, the crowd is awesome, the pregame and in-game production and entertainment are all top notch. Also, many of the pictures you show are VERY outdated. The entire lower bowl was torn out-including the concrete and replaced with new larger seats. The 25% of the lower bowl that was bleachers was replaced with chairback seats and capacity was reduced from 22,700 to 18,000. The upper bowl has all new seating. New large videoboards and scoreboard, new LED ribbons, new LED lighting, new court, expanded concourses in the corners of the building. Even though the building is 50+ years old, the arena itself is all brand new. Tech, ISU, and obviously Kansas have awesome atmospheres as well. I would love to visit them a someday. Actually would love to visit all the Big12 campuses/cities! Big12 basketball has just been awesome tk follow this year!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion so I’m not going to flame you for yours, but BYU has since remodeled the Marriott Center and the entire arena is blue seating. It may seem a small thing, but for those of us who hated the tan/yellow chairs from the 70s it’s huge! (Plus, they lowered capacity from 22,500 to 18,000 to give everyone more leg room)
I didn’t need to watch video, I read the comments instead. BYU definitely has a great basketball arena, food choices, easy available parking and who can argue about how awesome the ROC is?
I think you need to understand that arenas are used for more than just basketball at some schools BYU, for example, uses the Marriott Center for weekly devotionals and community events involving large gatherings. Besides, when it comes to basketball, its not the arena, its the fans that make the difference in the game regardless of the design of the arena.
That's no excuse. Baylor has less students than BYU and they have Foster Pavilion and also Ferrell Center. If you need multiple arenas for different uses... you reach into the church coffers and you build multiple arenas for different uses.
It doesn't really matter, the only subpar thing about the Marriott center is the exterior, which is completely fine and not worth upgrading. It is plenty good in every other possible way.
@@slimydick23 Why though? The Marriot Center is perfectly fine for events outside basketball. It's on campus and surprisingly centrally located essentially equidistant from the 3 main dorm complexes on campus and the admin building. It's a 20k seat arena, it'd be dumb to not use it for as much as possible.
@@brailsmt if you have a multipurpose area it's baked into the deal that for every single use you'll find a couple of reasons why it's lacking. that's the deal you made... or you can make a dozen different arenas on campus for every use: church, plays, concerts, MBB, WBB, volleyball, gymnastics, etc
He hasn't even been to any of these places. He literally just based it all on what he sees on television and in pics. He bashed the exterior of the WVU Coliseum. However, it is an absolutely gorgeus structure. He also said, the WVU Colisuem has no upper deck. THat is 100% false. He is clueless.
All of this guys rankings are based off hype WV unfortunately went 9-23 the year he decided to make this😂. We averaged more attendance with 9 wins all year than a few teams ahead of us full capacity.
If you haven’t been to all the arenas how can you rank them? You put a lot of value into exterior design but that doesn’t really make it a great gym for basketball. Also you seem to like suites versus basic seating but they only benefit a few fans.
He hasn't even been to any of these places. He literally just based it all on what he sees on television and in pics. WVU Coliseum is one of the best arenas in America! He bashed the exterior of the WVU Coliseum. However, it is an absolutely gorgeus structure. He also said, the WVU Coliseum has no upper deck. THat is 100% false. He is clueless.
I've never understood why arenas should have natural light glaring into the seating bowls. The glare is horrible. Arenas should have no windows in the seating areas. Save that for the concourses.
@@ghostface1737went to a game about 2 months ago, made the mistake of wearing pants and a sweatshirt (it was 30 degrees out) and as well was at the very top right Infront of the window, definitely got cooked 😂
I thank you for making a more positive video; but as far as GIA is concerned; yes there is an UPPER DECK! The concourse separates the 200 from the 300 sections. I will have to respond to your list, which I agreed with 80% of what you said later today.
5:15 UCF fan here, gonna talk about AddFi. 1. It's larger than Fertitta Center and Foster Pavilion. I think the size is perfect. Also, they took out some seats to put in the Courtside Club. Those seats have always been retractable for other events so they could easily put those back if necessary. That puts the capacity right at 10k 2. The wall is there because that's where the stage backs up to for concerts. They cannot remove it for natural light because the back of the arena actually backs up to The Venue, which is the old arena that now is used for the volleyball team. That said, I want them to put more seats up there since we could easily get another 1-2k up there. The seats in front of that wall are the student section btw
Allen arena at #1 makes sense but Foster at #2??? Foster dead last. I hate the place and I go there. Miserable. Honestly, tear it down and start over. What a waste of money. I to was surprised with the rankings. BYU, a new member, has the highest average attendance. Seems like that should've been part of it. You stated that Foster is "cozy"; another word for puny. Honestly, I hate Foster. I'd put WVU as #1. Your take is off. How does Baylor end up as a top team after being imprisoned in that awful arena. Looks like a penitentiary inside.
Having windows/ natural light makes a huge difference in atmosphere for arenas!! All new built facilities should b mandatory 2hav this. No crowding ppl in a dungeon to watch sports
I would recommend using some newer photos for Addition Financial Arena, the court design changed a little bit and it looks much better. As for the wall, no, it’s not covering anything.
@@GoOp790Yeah right. I guess their "criminally overrated home court" is why no one beats them there. And why all opposing coaches and teams that lose there talk about how amazing ISU's home court advantage is. The only arena I've been to that was louder than Hilton was the old Chicago Stadium, which had a capacity of around 20,000 whereas Hilton's is around 14,500.
@@klubs1 it’s criminally overrated. I think AFH is overrated, but it’s not criminally overrated. Pretty sure Iowa State went 2-18 a few years ago. I think being a good team is why they win, “Hilton Magic” won them like one game that one year. Tragic, but true
WVU 13? This guy is outside his mind. The coliseum can hold 14k fans, and with its design and acoustics, it literally sounds like you are inside a Mad Max movie watching gladiators duke it out in the Thunder Dome. What a joke, the BYU placement is atrocious as well.
UCF and Houston arenas are not nicer then the MC...you're nuts. And I'd say easily better then TCU and Texas Tech. You cant base arena rankings on exteriors. Lol
You lost me at K-State. If I gotta sit in some bleachers at a basketball game I will go to the YMCA. Should be dead last! Also I’m a UH Coog so this was my 1st year seeing all the XII arenas. The Marriott Center is Fire! Ranked too low. Foster Center is ranked too high. ESPN is paying Baylor 20mil a yr to put their games on tv….they NEEED to find a better place for the tv camera. Period. Especially if the capacity is only 7k.
Bramlage has a lot of chair back seating and I imagine more will go in over time. My biggest dislike for Bramlage was putting in those "cages" for where the media sit. I don't get it. They look ugly and out of place with the rest of the arena. I do like the new court. It looks brighter and cleaner than the previous one. You saw both of them in the video.
Gee how did I guess you would have Kansas at #1. Fogg is an old building that harkens back to 1960’s basketball. BTW, Baylor’s new house should be around #10
Zero research put into this video by a guy who has clearly been to very few (if any) of these arena. Piss poor video by an ignoramus. Don’t bother to watch. Only one he got right was #1. I’ve been to all these arenas now and the worst is by far Houston. BYU should be like top 3. He’s a dope.
You have a very skewed way of looking at this. No one cares about looks. The size is a major factor that you did not mention consistently. Hilton is the best btw.
Could we get more soccer videos on the channel! For example, tournaments like this summer’s EURO Cup and COPA America, plus the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers when they start heating up more. They is a big international break later this month with Asian WCQ 2nd Round Gamedays 3 & 4, EURO & COPA America Qualifying Playoffs and CONCACAF Nations League Finals coming up.
