First Analogue Pocket just got Analogue OS 2.2 support..and now we get a port of Wickerwaka's Irem M92 MiSTer FPGA arcade core to Analogue Pocket from Boogermann. R-Type Leo, Ninja Baseball Bat Man, In the Hunt, Undercover Cops, GunForce II and so many other best arcade games ever coming to Analogue Pocket...zero complaints there! This is not a finished core port so its not an Analogue Pocket review but its definitely worth starting to play these arcade games today! And if you need an Analogue Pocket guide I have them on the playlist!

Ten years ago I bought the Ninja Baseball Batman PCB to use with a supergun. From what I see, the core does indeed have something to gain with the playing speed. I am confident that improvements will also come, in any case it is great news that the Pocket now has this core. Heavy hitters for sure, Gunforce & R-Type are up my list.

Hi VGE, I'm lucky enough to have both MiSTer and Pocket but I must confess I rather use the good ol' MiSTer on a CRT. Thank you for your polished and articulated videos I've been watching for years now without posting any comment! This is now fixed :) Hat off from France, keep on esotering.

Own both. Use Mister a bit more and even use my Miyoo Mini Plus over the Pocket just because of how convenient it is to carry.

Both for me. The MiSTer is my favorite of the two but the pocket is really close to a portable MiSTer so I dig it as well.

All superb games. I miss Irem😢Love R-Type Leo because it feels a bit more relaxed compared to the first 2. Such a shame it never got a Saturn or PS1 port. Same goes for the rest, really. I remember playing most of these in the arcades but Bat Man was a surprise MAME discovery many years later. I own In the Hunt on Saturn and PS1 because… well, because😂I look forward to being ripped off with however many Irem Volumes they end up releasing😫

Had the pocket for a while. Installed a bunch a cores about a year ago and only messed with it for like a day. Last weekend I went and spent a day updating all the cores. Plan to use it for when I want to lay in bed instead of having to boot up my mister.

I own a Pocket and a MiSTer. I thought it would be good to have a hand held FPGA system but honestly I rarely use the Pocket. There isn't anything it gives that isn't available on the MiSTer and my old man eyes have a hard time focusing on the small screen. I will probably sell it sooner or later and stick with my MiSTer.

In the Hunt definitely slows down a lot more than any other version I've played: MAME, Saturn, Playstation (though this one is 30fps so the slowdowns kinda get hidden by the lower framerate).

Irem truly was the "hidden gem" of arcade developers back in the day, as they had tons more great games than I ever game them credit for at the time.

Pocket is a very good, high quality product in the hands of the wrong company. For months now every time I try to order one is out of stock. I also have to ask a friend to bring it over (I live in Europe) because there's no resellers here that sell the product at a normal price... So for now MiSter is the only solution for me... No Analogue FPGA portable love 😢 apart from the beautiful Funny playing FGBC which I adore! 😍

When I try to boot any of the roms on my pocket, they're loading to a black screen. I can hit the Analogue button and still change the game it is running, but they all load to a black screen

Actually - looks like this was a reported issue that mainly impacted the transparent line. There is a new core update avail. Roms are booting now

Still not working on the glow in the dark ap even on the latest 0.1.1 version. But works fine on the standard white model… sure it will get fixed soon !

@@VideoGameEsoterica Don't worry, the MiSTer is probably my number one favourite piece of tech, especially with the Saturn core coming along so well recently. The pocket on the other hand has seen less use than I would have wanted it to, but it's such a nice device that I don't really mind.

@@VideoGameEsoterica Is Black Model 2022, I have noticed that when I load the games in some occasions in the Test screen appears RAM error, then start the game and after playing a little the screen goes black and does not advance any more.

I unistall the core and reinstall the same, all of this via the same Updater. Play again and same result. Suspicious on the rom files because only this core have problems.

Public. You can get them through updaters. It's a little slow (might vary pocket to pocket as it seems the timings are not fully synced across all revisions).

@@sunderark It is not. The arcade is 60fps with slowdowns, the Playstation version is 30 fps.

@@kathleendelcourt8136 The actual arcade pcb has way more slowdowns than the PS version. The Saturn version runs exactly like the arcade version. Also the PS Version is running at 60fps or 50 if you're in pal regions and suffer no slowdowns.
