Here we go! Finally sunk my teeth into the new terrain and boy was it fun! Searched through the marsh lands for a WHILE. Finally CONNECTED with my hometown hero...THE BLUEFISH. I worked 3/8oz to 3/4oz jigheads and swim shads in tiny creek mouths. Surrounded by oyster bars and clean water it was a magical experience.

Welcome! You should consider repeating some of your catch and cooks to see if they taste any different down here. I've noticed some species taste different depending on the body of water.

You're going to be on a learning curve for a while. I'm a Southern New England guy & found fishing down here (Virginia) very "different" than back home. The good thing is...they're easier to fish with & around down this way & are more than happy to give advice that actually helps. Welcome to the south. You'll learn to miss a lot of what you did up north. Fair winds.

This has nothing to do with the video, but I went out this morning with the tube and worm rig you recommended to me on Amazon, and I kicked ass. Got over 20 stripers in a few hours. Got them up to 25 pounds. Easily the best day of striper fishing I've ever had. There were a couple dozen kayakers near me, but I out fished all of them by far. Thanks Elias.

I got one that was 32'' a week ago about an hour North of you in Jacksonville. They will hit topwaters pretty good too for us. Awesome catch. Let me know when you wanna come catch some big specks in the New River. I will hook you up with all the info you'll need to be successful for a weekend trip. Check my FB Steven T. Brewster. We catch plenty of trout over 26'' up here in the fall if you want your trophy and can't get it down there.

I gotta be honest. I was so disappointed knowing your were leaving NY. I lost a lot of friends to the United states this year.(somehow I always keep NYC separate from the rest of our country) I'll admit that I freaked an unsubscribed immediately... but I'm back. I've forgiven quickly hahaha. Thanks for always keeping it real elias. If you ever wanna fish the western sound, I make my own jigs and have a sick tog bite in the fall... let me know. Tight lines and all the best in your new surroundings. One love

I'm gonna be going to north Carolina in July and I'm not use to sea fishing on a kayak. So what kind of rod, and weight of line would you recommend? Don't really have any paticular fish I'm going after. Just as long as the kids and I get something I'll be happy!

Some nice blues...they are the best fighters...love it when they show up here in Maine...when you hook up they take off on long runs and you first think "shark"?... Your arms take a big hit and you feel the fight for days...love it...

Welcome to NC. Great to have you here. Nice of the blues to give a little welcome too. It'll be interesting to hear your impressions of the folks you encounter on the water. When I came down I was struck by how pleasant people where, as opposed to the waters around NY where I encountered douchebags almost on a daily basis.

I'm pretty sure I've watched all of your videos, (I may have missed one or two), but have you ever done a video that captures the entire process of loading and unloading your kayak? I'm interested in this style of fishing, but I've never seen anyone show the bit's at the beginning and end of a trip. How you rig the boat on your truck, how you unload and get it to the launch point, how long it takes to set the boat up, etc. Some of it can be inferred, and you've shown some good tips, but I'd like to see the whole thing. Maybe I'm the only one, I don't know, but I'd like to get a better sense of it.
@miclam00
@miclam00 6 лет назад
Scott Clausen if you cartop it is the worst part of kayak fishing. It takes me 20-30m from arrival to launch and that's with it down to a science. If you trailer or use a pickup bed it's a lot quicker, since you can leave the yak loaded and ready to go.

Dude, be careful of your background. I saw 13 boats go back to your spot today, May 2. Internet is full of lazy fishermen that do not want to learn where to fish, but want your Honey Hole. I know the Blues are gone by now, but if you show where with Drum and Flounder are, you will be S.O.L.

EliasVFishing, great channel man love the "trash fish catch and cook" series. Slim chances you see this, but where the heck are you catching so many tiderunners in that video some months back. I fish out of Atlantic highlands nj around the tip of the hook to rockaway and all to the way out to the mudhole for sharks and Dorado, and haven't caught one of these guys in years. We used to catch them all the time in pretty much every channel with sandworms, but then they vanished. Hell, surprisingly, I actually caught a probably 4 inch one many years back while using a kastmaster at the dock catching snapper blues for bait. I've pretty much given up on fishing for them and fluke in favor of Mahi Mahi and shark at this point cause there seems to be no keeper sized fluke around anymore, and i haven't seen heads or tale of any weakfish.
