Nice fishing day with the Primo. I have so far avoided heavy kayaks ever since my first Crescent LT Generation 1. That thing is awesome in the right water conditions but I much prefer the lighter weight yaks being I car top most of the time.

The lighter kayaks definitely make life easier for top loaders. I’ve got a bad shoulder too and it’s really helping out. Thanks for watching

I have the lite tackle which I do love just not a throw in go for those quick couple hrs outing it's the one I like to take camping but this one has my interest for just that throw in go perfect kayak

You got a great kayak for every application. I loved my LT especially for camping trips. Wish I still had it. I have the Shoalie, Crew and the Primo. The Primo is perfect for a throw and go. I’ve been impressed with its performance for a smaller lighter boat. It’s turning into my main now for solo missions vs the Shoalie partly cuz I hate top loading the Shoalie by myself. lol

Just got my Primo out today. Did 8 miles and a good class II rapid. Some decent standing waves. Was really a blast. Wanted one for when the water is low and lackluster out there on our backyard stretch. Really think you would prefer a ck1. Hopefully you can try one. They are every bit the same as far as portability but handle very differently on the water. Primo is really going to be a good addition for our fleet.
@Itchin2Fish

Awesome! Yeah I really need to paddle on especially with it being a lighter boat than the Shoalie and still having room for camping gear.

been lookin at the CK1 and primo,,want something I can paddle back upstream,ck1 looks like it has a better/more streamlined hull design but I like the motor mount and paddle rest on the primo...any opinions?
@Em44mag
@Em44mag 2 месяца назад
@@tedvoise7964 both will paddle upstream about the same. Motors are easy to add to either. Think the ck1 is better setup for fishing and the wider cockpit makes rod management a little more smooth. Both are good. CK1 might be more versatile.
@Itchin2Fish
@Itchin2Fish 2 месяца назад
@@tedvoise7964 primo motor mount is a plus for sure. Wish they would make an aftermarket mount for the CK. If so that would be my choice when putting all that extra weight on with that additional stability and length.

What’s your opinion on getting the Lite Tackle 2 for River fishing, camping, deer hunting? Curious what got you away from the other boats outside of your shoulder? Think you could still 3 day camp out of the Primo?
@Itchin2Fish
@Itchin2Fish 4 месяца назад
The LT2 would be perfect for every application. I believe it’s the most stable, best tracking and you can load it down with a lot gear. For hunting, depends on your game cooler and camp gear. I use backpacking camping gear. It packs down really small and it’s light. The cooler and type of deer stand, saddle or pop up blind you use depends on spacing too. My trip kayak camping and hunting on the river was a lot of fun. I used the Crew and I ended up not having space for my cooler, so my friend hauled it for me on his canoe. I’ve learned to downsize even more from that trip as well as trade in the climber for a saddle. Now I have no issue with the cooler. On the Crew, there’s no inside hull storage of course or that would have helped. I own the Shoalie, Crew and Primo now. lol. I will still use the Shoalie for camping. The primo would work for camping too especially with my light camp gear as long as I pack light on the fishing gear. lol. You could do a three day trip for sure on the Primo if you are packing freeze dried food and a Geo Press to save on weight. I haven’t fully loaded out the Primo, but with any loaded out kayak getting close to the weight capacity you definitely give up some performance and stability. Maybe I could take the Primo on a camp trip to show how it handles. Tight line friend! Hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick reply. Thinking about selling my Native Ultimate FX for the LT2. Wish I could test paddle first!

How do you like this compared to the shoalie (stability, skinny water,rapids and stability)
@Itchin2Fish
@Itchin2Fish 13 дней назад
Shoalie wins in stability, tracking (out of the two, LT2 is made for tracking), rapids. It’s a heavy kayak though for portage, car topping etc. it you have a truck or trailer, no issue than. The comfort and fishability of the Shoalie is great. Definitely a favorite for me. It handles rapids like a champ. Primo doesn’t track well at all. Can be tippy at first, but the more you paddle it and learn the secondary stability, then you will grow to love it. I stood out of it with ease, but not as comfortable as the Shoalie. Less weight capacity. Handles rapids well and maneuvers well in moving water. So light and easy for throw and go and carrying. The shoalie maneuvers well too, but is more stable due to the length and width. If you can handle the weight of the Shoalie, it’s worth it. Primo is great option to save money and more portable. CK1 is right in the middle of both.

@Itchin2Fish thanks for responding I test paddled a tackle 2 and a Shoalie was pulling plug this weekend but crescent kayaks can seem tippy compared to the kilroy I was in.

Can i ask, how do you have that front camera mounted?
@Itchin2Fish
@Itchin2Fish 2 дня назад
Originally, this was a dog bone ram mount from Amazon. It came with a gear track bolt. I swapped it for a threaded bolt that has threads on both sides (no head) then I removed the front handle rear bolt and screwed the mount in instead. Now I have a gear track installed on the front right side and I use a yakattack camera mount.

@@RJM-Media appreciate the support! I went on YakAttack’s website and got some off of the clearance tab. Check there first, may save you some money. Just measure your space first or look up the sizes from the kit from Crescent. Tight lines!
