People up in the loft is their brass quintet that travels with the band. You will hear them shine on the live versions of East Coast Racer and Victorian Brickwork.

One of my favourite bands. Their signature piece is East Coast Racer. Live version is my fav but studio cut is also excellent. Other great tracks include Ariel, Victorian Brickwork, Kingmaker and Atlantic Cable. Really hard to go wrong on anything they do.

BBT were part of the 90's prog resurgence. I had one of their very earliest CDs but never really got into them. They disappeared for a while and then came back strong in the past 10-20 years. David Longdon's passing caught everyone by surprise. RIP. If you like this band you'll like Spock's Beard and The Dear Hunter.

A band for musicians who don't paly bass, lead, keyboards, or drums. The knock on BBT might be that overall their music doesn't rock enough for those who think hard rock is the only way to play music. Personally, I have to love the lead vocalist to love a band, and David Longdon's voice is superb. Some of their more mellow songs might have been a better choice to introduce BBT to a wider audience. They are, perhaps, a band to play on a Sunday morning rather than Satruday night. I'm not quite sure what exactly happened to Longdon. I was informed he was seriously hurt in an auto accident, spent some time in the hospital, and was released home. Or at least IIRC that was the press release main facts. Fans rejoiced, then a couple of days later, Longdon's death was announced. I don't know if the family ever provided any details as to what happened just prior to his death, leaving people like me to speculate. Complitcations from the auto accident? Went home to die? Suffered an injury, such as a bad fall, while convalescing at home? It's none of my business, except I can't believe he is gone, and feel a compulsion to know why.

Great Band! I only found them a few years ago. The drummer is Nick D'Virgilio who you saw in Spock's Beard (June, Crack the Big Sky) playing drums, guitar, keyboard and singing. I saw him drum for Tears for Fears about 15 years ago. Dave Gregory (XTC) played guitar with BBT for a few years as well but he's not on this video. I like the singer too. Sad he died so young.

BTW - my friend 'loaned' me his 4003 Rickenbacker for several years as he also had an Ibanez with active electronics and a very demanding job involving lots of travel. I sounded great but weighed a ton (I'm only 5' 7"). I recorded as much as I could on my other friends Teac 4 track. Predictably, most of these recordings aren't good enough to be useful.

Guy who traded Ibanez guitars with my son is possibly getting a 1982 ricky. I’m not telling my son but if the guy gets it and prices it right, I’m buying the damn thing. Lol. We saw a brand new one in a local store and I got to hear my som play it. He tried roundabout and well, he’s not quite ready to tour with Yes. 😂😂😂 Don’t know anything about this show. I have learned since that the guitar player was in a band call XTC (I think that’s correct). Watched a lot of stuff since and he’s an amazing guitar player. Lots of talent on that stage.

David Gregory is the guitar player who was in XTC. They were more popular in the UK, but still had several American hits in the 80's, including "Dear God" and "Generals and Majors".
