God I’m loving Radiance Films - I have them all so far and intend to continue to grab them all - and you’re a big reason why Elliot - thanks for your continuing great coverage and overviews here

Got Zulawski, and just this morning got the Dino Risi boxset from Radiance along with A Woman Kills and Red Sun. I’ve also gotten my mid year sale orders from Vinegar Syndrome and Severin and I haven’t had a chance to watch any of them yet! To say we’re living in the golden age of physical media would be an understatement

Hi Elliot - great vid. I acquired “McVicar” on Blu-ray first time ever - excellent transfer just been released - definitely worth you doing a review 🙌

Great video pal, and a wonderful showcase of some of the great work being done at the moment from these labels. Need to get my hands on more Imprint titles. Cheers

Good selection there Elliot! How do you buy these in the UK? Specifically the Umbrella releases, seems like those limited editions are only for sale on their webshop, and that's very expensive to buy in the EU with the shipping + vat + import tax

Hi Elliot, love the channel! So sorry for such a boring question, but where did you get your lovely white bluray storage? My collection is spilling out of its tiny shelf!

The end of civilization sounds very interesting. Also there is a pending huge list of releases of japanese cult cinema, Terayama, Ishii. Neither Criterion or Arrow have released more is there a conflict in rights what a hell happened?

Music Box - must be the greatest psychological horrific end to a film that I can remember. Somewhat worse than Carrie because Music Box is very realistic if you remember recent nazi war crimes trials. If you "liked" this film try a recent (2015) film called "Remember" with Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer.

That box/artwork for Inu-Oh looks gorgeous! I might have to see if I can track that set down (is it a UK-specific set that I would have to import to the US?)

Coincidentally my copy of "Searching for Bobby Fischer" arrived from Australia yesterday...about an hour before I watched your video ;-) I was initially horrified by your remarks about the quality of the Blu-ray as I'd been very much looking forward to this one...more on that in a sec ;-) I've been a fan of this movie for nearly 30 years and own the DVD...it was called "Innocent Moves" in the UK (on Video/DVD) which although sounds a little "cringey" was a very appropriate title...the movie is as much (or more) about "innocence", "decency", "moral values" and "finding joy" as it is about Chess...hence the title "Innocent Moves" (I do prefer the less cringey title "Seaching for Bobbie Fischer" though). It's a truly wonderful film and one of my all-time favourites. I strongly disagree with you about the directing...I think Steven Zaillian has done an outstanding job here. The casting and performances are superb, not only for Josh (played by Max Pomeranc) and his teachers (Lawrence Fishburne, Ben Knigsley) but also his parents (Joe Mantegna, Joan Allen) and all the very small "bit parts" (such as Tony Shalhoub as the chess player that Josh gives his sweets to). I also really liked the silent, determined, focus and intensity conveyed by Michael Nirenberg (who I just found out sadly died at a very young age R.I.P.). In regard to the quality of the Blu-ray, it is unfortunately a mixed bag...you are absolutely right that there appears to be excessive DNR in many of the scenes...on the other hand, when I compare it to the DVD the brightness, colours and detail (in some areas...) is significantly improved and vastly more pleasing to the eye. As Josh walks into the hall for the final "showdown" for example, what greets him on the DVD is a "muddy mess", you can barely see any colour in the tapestry except brown...but on the Blu-ray you can see all the colours. As I say, it's a mixed bag, overall I definitely prefer the Blu-ray and I'm glad I have it...but the DNR is excessive.

As a bit of a warning I've recently bought Drunken Master 2 and Rumble in the Bronx and although I'm happy to own the films the cine editions exclusive to HMV are really bad no special features a booklet that is essentially a photo album no essays and the although it's nice to have the original language of Drunken Master 2 the subtitles are the sort that also explains sounds for the deaf, why couldn't they do two separate subtitle tracks? So if you really want these films buy them but I am really disappointed with the sets. Also I'm not blaming HMV the didn't make the discs this is on warner bros.

Music Box needs a region A blu ray release. And Z needs also a blu ray release, Costa Gavras masterpiece.

@@URBONED indeed? I wasn't aware of that. Anyway, it's a bit overpriced here in Brazil. It costs as much as a refrigerator!

I bought The Woman wore Black - I was not impressed - not one Truffant's better efforts and to top it all there were no commentaries or extensive extras - Kim Newman says in the only worthwhile extra that basically Truffant was asked by his Studio to make some money and this film was the result. Not a good first start for me with Radiance. Better than my experience with Anti Worlds - I bought the film - The Relaxer as a blind buy in Fopp Manchester and the film was terrible!
