We have made some more changes to this bin, mainly removing the lid to control the moisture better. My aim is to reduce the springtails that are in the system. Thanks for watching, Bye for now, Mikko
Although springtails are not harmful to a bin, they do compete with the worm food. Springtails love a moist environment, so removing the lid and adding the dry carbon will certainly reduce their numbers. Spring is around the corner. Stay Well!!!
Thanks, I thought the food was going quite quickly. That makes sense. Thanks for watching, yes, Spring is around the corner. I'll get a few of those water walls to see how they are this year. Have a great day.
@@mikkosgarden The ones I got off of Amazon were around $3 or $4 dollars a piece. They are nice to have around if you want to get a jump start out in the garden. I would advise to warm the soil 1st with clear plastic for tomatoes and peppers. Stay Well!!!
It looks like a nice feeding and you guys added a great amount of bedding for the worms. Hope the springtails get under control for the bin. What is good with looking at the bin and changing one thing at a time you get to see if it helps, before you change the next thing
