protectyaneck__ ikr like I make waffles at home and it's not too hard. It only takes about 15 minutes to make 4 waffles. The lights on top are there for a reason! He should just fricken READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!! AHHHHGHGGGGGGGHGHGHGHGG SOOOO TRIGGEEEEEEERRRRREDDD!!!!
+Ivan Dulay Yeah, he's proud of his ignorance. Like, if you notice in this video, he actually tosses the instructions away. In other videos he announces that he hasn't read the instructions.
So it appears he turned it on then a smell started so he then unplugged it from the white extension cord he has next to the plug and began to read the manual. Then he cut back on his camera. Poor editing caused a ton of confusion
"is it hot?" *uses cloth to press plate back into place* (Not plugged in). Clear notice requesting to pre heat for atleast 3 mins. Puts bread in first then plugs in after. Lol and I was curious why this had so many negative reviews. Luckily the other videos arent too bad.
“Don’t ever make waffles at home. It’s a pain in the butt. It’s so much easier going to a restaurant and order waffles.” Did this man, on his internet cooking show (which he hoped to be chosen by the Food Network), seriously say to just go buy waffles instead of learning to make them from scratch because it’s too hard?
Around five minutes *taps metal part thinking it's hot* The pan wasn't plugged in, it is going to be room temperature.. Around seven minutes *sets in sandwiches and closes THEN plugs it in* The little slip told you to preheat for 3 minutes not just to hop to it. Not trying to find fault here but it would be really helpful if you did he review correctly to give everyone a correct idea on how it cooks.
And the whole "I thought these were NON STICK plates." They are, buddy, AFTER you season the grill. I hate watching his channel because he never follows directions.
I think the reason your having to cook them for longer than usual is that the it needs to be plugged in before you start putting the food (e.g. Sandwiches) in, because it needs to preheat. That's what the lights on top of the sandwich maker are for. Its possible that this is the problem that caused the waffles not to cook properly.
If you notice, in each instance, the green light is lit when he puts the food in, which indicates the grill was up to temperature. Not nearly hot enough to be considered a "grill" from where I'm sitting, but it was pre-heated.
1. You should have preheated the toaster before putting the bread in. 2. All toasters needs to be crambed down, it's easier if the toaster is hot. 3. Maybe you're slices of bread are too thick. It's most likely designed to standard sandwichbread.
BTW. I made waffles yesterday on a very old waffle machine and that was a piece of cake. Didn't even take 5 minuttes. Make the batter from scratch but seperate the eggs and whisk the eggwhites. it makes them alot more fluffy.
Waffle mixture pouring FAIL. Jack, you obviously put too much in there, that was your fault bud. I have an ooooooooold waffle maker that we've probably had for about 10 years. I make my waffler batter at home and they always come out wonderfully. Don't blame the product if you don't know how to use it.
Well it was his first time, so it wasn't 100% his fault. I sometime over pour the batter on my waffle maker too and it still comes out just fine. So it varies.
Jack: "I told you guys, don't make waffles at home because it's a pain in the butt" Jack 4 seconds later: "I've never made waffles at home." This wasn't a machine fail, you pretty clearly didn't oil the machine enough. It just looks like it wasn't cooked long enough.
The machine wasn't even plugged in when you ever so dramatically used a dish towel, claiming it's pretty warm, to push the plates down, and you didn't even preheat the thing before putting the sandwiches in.
Man, cant help but think....wanting to lose 30lbs before the end of 2011. Sadly never came to fruition, here we are in 2019 and Jack has had 2 strokes and lost movement in his hand.
i'm so glad i watch this video before buying it and after what i saw i think.............. i'm going buy it. because it looked easy and ill read the card first. thanks jack
waffel are not hard to make at home if you have good waffel iron. I previously had a bella belgium waffle maker that I had for over 5 years and recently upgraded to a kitchenaid waffel baker they both work phenomenal. but you have to follow the directions to get the best use.
I own the Big Boss Grill... the waffle batter was definitely too much, you admit to never making waffles before, so I have to wonder, did you use the directions that came with it or the ones on the box of Pancake/Waffle mix? and did you pre-heat the grill like it says to... (notice the green and red lights on the top... the green light comes on when you plug it in, the red light comes on when it's ready to use...) as for the sandwiches, you CAN use butter on the bread instead of spraying the plates, much better flavor. and for the thickness of the bread... I would suggest thinner slices of bread instead of the 2" thick slices you've used *yeah, it might be tasty bread but the machine DOES have limits...
Its not the machines fault that your waffles got screwed up. 1. You didn't use enough mixture 2. Its your recipes fault not the machine (the consistency should have been way more floating 3. You really should stop nagging about the machine being bad, I have one myself, my toasts gets perfect in that machine so does my waffles. Gosh -.-
Gregory Varis They are meant for people dumb enough to spend money on them :) That's all these gadgets are for; making profit for some company. So far I haven't seen Jack review anything that works better than a real knife or real pan. The only possible exception is the veggie chop. That looks intriguing. But it doesn't look like it would work any better than my hand crank food processor. These videos are amusing however. It's amusing to see the kind of crap people in the US are dumb enough to spend money on.
@@purplemutantas it's cool to see how dumb this guy is and how he doesn't follow rules and what country do u live in to talk about the United States and how stupid we are
The fail of the waffles can have 2 reasons. 1. You didn't preheat the Big Boss Grill. This will ofc take longer for the waffles to cook proberly . 2. Opening the lid before the waffles are done (For example too early, if you forgot the preheat), makes them break appart, as the batter is still sligtly gooey and not cooked all the way through. I'm very sure the machine can cook waffles pretty well, if you next time remember the preheat and avoid opening the lid too early. - Louisa from Denmark
i love this thing. When my mother first bought this, I was abit hesitant and thought it was a mistake. After couple years, I fell in love with this machine. It takes around 3 minutes to make a grilled cheese sandwich.
I think your waffles would have worked better if you plugged it directly into the wall. I think that white extension cord has too much resistance. Your grill might not get full heat.
When I was using mom's old electric waffle iron for my wife & kids, I'd pre-heat it real good first. Then brush with oil & let it get hot again, briefly. Be sure batter isn't too thick or too thin. A bit thinner than pancake batter. I ladled the batter in evenly, then close it for a few minutes. Great every time.
I Liked the new intro, and I'm thinking of getting a Big Boss Grill as well. Big fan of your show, followed you since the slap chop review, sorry you didn't make the food network's finals but hey you're show's still the best on youtube. looking forward to the next episode!
I was told that using oil on "non-stick" surfaces is normal; kind of like seasoning cast iron. I've never had a non-stick surface that didn't allow some sticking/burning.
Is this guy even qualified for these types of reviews? He messed up not pre-heating, he wasn't sure if the chicken was ready (maybe cut it open), and he had never made waffles at home. I don't know what to think of this guy.
hey jack, i know this is old, but non stick on anything doesnt mean food wont stick. non stick is meant to be used with a little bit of butter or oil whereas on steel pans you would use more oil or butter to make food not stick. the non stick surface is just to make it easier for food to not stick.
Anthony Ramsey its non stick as in it helps food not stick as much to it as it would on steel pans. its meant to not use as much oil or butter as you would for steel pans.
I face palmed this whole video. Read the DIRECTIONS and FOLLOW THEM. Otherwise, don't do ASOT videos. Or product reviews. Or any, for that matter. If you can't follow simple rules then don't blame the machine because you fail.
He was kind of over acting here?...He couldn"t close it?..Iv'e got one of these things and there great!!.Although it"s a pain to wash the damn plates constantly..
@LukeTheLemonn Nope. I have too many products backing up. I don't do waffles. Everything else I can do in a pan. It's was a cool product, just no room or real heavy use for it. I am concerned about the coating coming off, but then again if it does then return it.
You got to remember that even non stick pans, or equipment usually sticks a lil. Just use some cooking oil spray and go on with your cooking. It's not going to kill you. I do it with my Foreman Grill.
You always have to season non-stick with oil before first use, even with professional quality brands like Fissler. If you have to spray it every time, then that's not great, but on first use it's really a sign of quality that you're even told.
Do not buy this crap. the George Forman grills are far superior, and of much higher quality. Along with the fact that they are VERY affordable, you shouldn't mess with these imitations. Trust me, I have had one for over 2 years and it's still like the day I bought it.
