I'm a lucky guy, I know ! I like sending out records as well. I have listened to almost all of these by now, and Louis has very similar taste as me. Thanks for looking in on this one !
Hoard is about right ! I'm swimming in good records, and I like it that way ! Haha 😏 Believe it. I still have a few holes to fill.. Some more Thin Lizzy Golden Earrring, stuff like that. Thanks, Craig 🎵 And thanks, Louis !
Not bad, not bad ! I spoke to Louis last night.. He doesn't have a channel.. He prefers to watch different stuff.. Cool guy, and he has become a friend ! Thank you, Brian 🎵
Thank you ! Another great metal album that blew my mind is Man O War " Battle Hymns" gold stamped promo .. Mint from Ted's House. Some old Tower records stock.. I had to tell you, I was surprised by how good it is !
This is fantastic...your excitement really comes through. Great VCLT unboxing video. As you say, nothing beats the element of surprise which can be so easily lost these days.
Intuitively, what looks good when I get there ( looking for records ) has always worked best for me ! More creativity, I feel..I Will see what you have been up to soon ! Thanks, RM 🎵
JT, I came back to this video because I wasn’t able to finish at work. lol. Killer box of records. I think Louis put together all records you said you needed through your entire video history. lol. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 the Zonkman
Great box of records, Straight up is one of the greatest albums ever, Robin Trower's best album, and the Ian Hunter album I believe has Cleveland Rocks on it. Great rock anthem! Also love the title cut of Tunnel of Love. Thanks for sharing.
Tunnel Of Love is an outstanding Bruce song ! Bridge Of Sighs.. Agreed, Robin's very best, and.. yes, " Cleveland Rocks" is on the A side of " You're Never Alone" ! Good, good records 🎵 Thanks !
Thank you, Mike ! I seriously kick myself for not speaking to Johnny ! I was with Terry Reid's ex backstage at The Joint. I might upgrade my copy eventually, but it is absolutely kind of my friend to send me a copy !
Hey JT, what an incredible box and he uses Hudson Hi-Fi inner sleeves! Harrison - Cloud Nine is on my list. The song “Someplace Else” literally made my eyes well up when I first heard it recently. It has such a “Beatlesque” quality and to quote Tom Petty, plenty of George’s “naughty chords” Enjoy!
I'm pleased to have a good copy ( Cloud Nine ) I now have 7 George albums, including " All Things Must Pass" I think Cloud Nine runs about 12 dollars or so in shops .. I think ? Thanks, Scott 🎵
It's a very good record. ( Frijid Pink ) Somehow, I missed giving it a listen through the ages ! I think that's about the best solo Ian Hunter.. I think ?
i was never a springsteen fan but for whatever reason i started getting into him around tunnel of love. some of it was due to an girl i was dating at time. but really like that album. i have decent best of Motels i picked up years ago i just dug up to listen to for a video. some good stuff. nice of that dude to send ya all that stuff. even elicited some “oh yeahs”!
I got a good " Oh Yeah" in there for you, personally ! 😅 Over at Ted's.. I've picked up the rest of the essential Motels Records, and some sealed ! The opener of Tunnel Of Love is good too !
I also have been looking for that Smith record forever. My father gave me a copy of that pink record when I was a child, interesting childhood of sound. Hope all is well
Hi JT. This was a fantastic VCLT!! One of the best I've seen. Louis has great taste in music and in such good condition. Many sealed 🎉. I don't know why Clapton gets so much grief. He's one of my favorites. The blues box is fantastic. Greg
Wow ! You have the Blues box already ! Nice.. I remember when those shows were happening in San Francisco.. ( Early 90's). I was supposed to go, and I stayed to work instead ! At least we have it now to enjoy ! Thanks 🎵
@@jtsrecordroom3963 I picked it up right away. My kids have been very good to me 😊. I've several of his performances out west. I should do a vid on the Clapton collection maybe 🤔.
Very cool.. I like the early ones ( first 6 or 7). All the rest always have gems scattered throughout his later catalog. Crosscut Saw off of Money & Cigarettes is a faithful Albert King cover !
A big thumbs up to Louis M. for that big box of awesome records. It's so true that Simple Is Best or Less Is More! However there are 10 - 25 watt mono block tube amps. that can power any speaker system. These can cost upwards of $100,000.00. YIKES!! Thanks for sharing JT.
After that audiophile mention, I'll adhere to.. Simple Is Better ! LoL !! 🤣 I love the way my system sounds . Although. I'm getting ready to do a shootout with my Lynnfield, Mass Boston Acousic VR30 Tower speakers up against my trusty Technics A50's that my ears are so used to. Thanks, Walter 🎵
Too many great records to comment on individually Jt, but what a great box of records. I’m a huge Trower fan, I must have over a dozen of his records. I have three Motels records so far. You’re right, can never have too many records. I’m going to a record fair on Saturday with no list, much more fun that way. Simple is better, words to live by. Family comes first, you only get one chance at that. I’m drooling over that sealed Jimmy Webb! Cheers my friend.
Never too many ! And when the time comes in the future.. I will deal with maybe half of what I have. There are a lot of possibilities for that here in town. Right now, I am enjoying collecting, and filling holes like I was never motivated to do ! Just dropped Sean off to 4th grade.. He is a delight. 🙂
Louis said.. " You don't have Frijid Pink, JT?" 😂 I think Northeastern Illinois qualifies for that requirement as well ! Haha, I love that record, Steve !
I sampled Frijid Pink tracks in the past, but it never stuck Robbie.. When I spun the record yesterday, I was absolutely blown away by this record ! Louis has become a good friend. Talk soon, brother 🎵
Two great late 70's albums in A Tonic For The Troops by The Boomtown Rats 🐀 & You're Never Alone With A Schizophrenic by Ian Hunter. Rat Trap & Cleveland Rocks sounded great on the radio. Looking forward to March Madness 🏀 !
Me too ! Did you see the Sports Center top 10 last night and today ? Number 1 was Max Strus from The Caveliers draining a more than half court buzzer- beater ! Number 2 was our very own Jarod Lucas ( Nevada Wolfpack ) one of the purest shooters in all of college ball hitting a buzzer beater from beyond half court to get us into The Big Dance" !! I went to UNLV freshman year, and am still.proud of how we have the largest winning margin, ever in a NCAA final ( 30 points over Duke ) 1990 I finished here at home at Nevada, here in Reno. Go Wolfpack ! 🏀
Back to the music, thanks, David ! I always slip and think.. " I Don't Like Mondays" is on this one. I have both, actually, and today is... My Monday !! Yuk ! 😉
I’ve had the Johnny Rivers album Blue Suede Shoes, since it’s release date in 1974, it’s just a fun well recorded album that somehow brings the well known rock & roll/r&b classic songs a fresh killer sound!
your 1,000% right theres a tremendous amount of videos as usual i'm behind!!! nice Clapton , Bad Finger with Ringware , nice Robin Trower , Ian Hunter , Boom Town Rats , Greg Kihn , Bruce Springsteen , George Harrison , Art Garfunkel , Motels, Johnny Rivers, Smith , Drifters , Beach Boys , Neil Diamond , the Marquee where Paul and some other musicians showed up to see Jimi play and Paul said this is going to be good? nice Beatles coffee mug , questions 1. did you get the coffee mug at spencers or Hot topic ,? 2. 80's on youtube why not on cd or vinyl?
Hey Mark ! We're all going to bed.. My boy has school in the morning. I will tackle these in the morning. That last question .. I like watching music videos late at night on RU-vid, lots of good stuff !
Thanks, Mike ! I'm enjoying these records and finally got home from work. We are expecting 10 feet of snow, way up high on top of the mountains in the next few days. A lot of celebrities live here and up at Lake Tahoe ( 50 min. ) Dave Mason and David Coverdale are here in town. So, yes.. I met quite a few notable people through the years. Mike Love from The Beach Boys lives here as well ! ( Never met him ) ! Haha 😉
I like Bruce Springsteen Tunnel of Love too. A couple of Bruce best ballads are on this record. I have a Drifters compilation. Under the Boardwalk is a favorite. I can relate to watching alot of 80s videos on the RU-vid.
I had such a good time late at night with headphones on after putting Sean down to sleep ! That opener on Tunnel Of Love is one of Bruce's best as well. " Walk Like A Man" got me again ! 😂 Thanks, Catherine. ( I still haven't seen the Bob Marley flick )
I'll listen, Roy.. I love that guy ! " Poor Side Of Town" proved how good of a writer he was as well ! His great covers happened when his producer realized how great they were ! Sean can't wait to get to Thailand.. Cheers 👍
