Hi Connie, I’m not a plant person but came across your video this morning and something about it is so relaxing to watch, not to mention educational, beautiful, and intriguing. Who knew? Thank you.

Hi Connie. My name is Connie also😀i love your plant room. I aspire to turn my second room into a room like yours before the year is out. Right now my room is an overwhelming hoarded junk x-closet room. Seeing your room gives me inspiration. Thanks

Hi Connie, I enjoyed this video along with reading your viewers’ comments and experiences. Thank you. We really do learn from each other in the plant community, don’t we? Many thanks to all. I got my Purple Sword from a local nursery here in NC about 16 months ago. He came in a very full and tall 6 in growers pot. He was sooo handsome! I’m still learning this plant. He’s still alive but he could look better. Fortunately he puts out new leaves quite often.😊 If I am even one day late with his water he flops down dramatically. I bought a 4 inch pot of Purple Sword as a back up and he does the same thing!🤣. Roots look good and I can’t find any signs of pests. I’m eager to see what your Purple Sword does in your environment. Both of mine are improving and I have hopes that the new growing Season will see much improvement. The only plants I have in water are my cuttings and they all do well, however, I may do as you have done for yours sometime in the future. I do have two of my Aglaonemas re-rooting in water and I don’t know what sent them downhill so fast. I got them in the fall and the stems just started falling off in January. Wish me luck! Take care and happy growing! 👌🪴🥰

Hi Peggy! Thanks for sharing your experience with the Purple Sword. I will have to keep a close eye on mine and do an update video in the future. I've found that most of my Aglaonema that came potted in coco coir are declining so I've either re-potted them in a chunky soil mix or transferred to water. Good luck with yours!

Nice haul. I have a lot of my Aglaonemas and Pothos in water also and haven’t had any issues. The bonus is no pests. At least not yet. That cummingiana is beautiful. I have a few and they grow like weeds. They also propagate easily. Loved the video. Your plant room looks beautiful 😍

You picked up some beautiful plants. I've been using LECA to grow plants in water for about 10 years. I also tend to transfer to water when my plants don't look happy. Best of luck!

Nice new plants! I put my red cuprea in Pon. That's brand new. I have some monstera cuttings in water(my daughter told me to keep some of the old water from week to week for the healthy bacteria- not to completely rinse them..?) I talked to a nursery person where I bought an aglaonema. The whole top came off! She suggested getting any new plants that are in cuir out of it as soon as possible and transferring to a chunky mix. I did repot that aglaonema but I didn't get rid of the cuir. So that's what I'm going to do today with everything in solid cuir. Your displays are beautiful! Thanks for sharing, Connie ✨🌿☀️

Hi Tina. Thank you! I'm going to start looking into Pon as well and possibly give it a try. Also, I'm not a fan of coco coir.

@@plantlifewithconnie well good luck! I hope I like Pon and you too! I've been working on getting all of my cuir pots switched and it's been a job. But I'm glad I'm getting it done. I have 4 more plants to go, after Amazon brings some more orchid bark. 💚✨🌿

I grow lots of plants in lechuza PON and they do great! My alocasias and anthuriums love it! If you struggle with alocasias that’s the best way to grow them!!

I'm an underwaterer. My thirsty plants go into PON in a self-watering pot or in no drainage. Sometimes I put the plant straight into PON. Other times I'll water root it first. If I've tried both methods unsuccessfully or if it is an expensive plant already established in soil I'll put it into a very chunky TFF/Aroid mix in a self-watering pot or in no drainage. If none of those methods work then I stop buying the plant…. Believe it or not, I've struggled the most with pothos. Anthurium, fine. Monstera fine. Even some Calathea are just fine! Now I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to grow a trailing plant in water…

I’m growing two monstera in Leca and water and a bird of paradise for almost a year. There is algae but I’m way to lazy to change the water or clean off the algae. Occasionally I’ll add some hydrogen peroxide which has helped the plants to thrive. I’m certain as long as they’re growing well and giving new leaves, I don’t think I’ll change the vase or water until the plants have outgrown the one it’s in. So far so good.

Connie! You convinced me to get that Selby again. Saw it yesterday but I had one that only seemed happy in water. I messed with it so much I finally tossed it, but at Lowes yesterday, I struggled with myself over it. I am going back today to get it. Like I need another plant. 😅

Nice plants. I would love to see how your plants' progress transitioning from soil to water. I'm finding it challenging not only to find affordable quality soil that is free of fungus gnats but now with MG Orchid Bark. I just opened a bag, and it was full of the gnats. I took it out on my balcony to spray it down. Please be careful when purchasing. I may be following you in switching to water🪴
