@@desertantler Yea man dark antlered elk and deer are just beautiful and it gives them that extra character that you don’t get to see often in antlers animals. I just killed a nice 7x7 on 9/7/21 here in New Mexico on the 1st archery elk hunt.
Nice work. My Son, Utah Res, is primarily a archery hunter BUT didn't tag out early and he has a limited tag as well and will use the click bang method to Hopefully notch a tag. Whatever it takes to get it done. Young legs prevail in those hills.
Nice job getting that old guy on such a big bull. That's what I'd expect with that kind of tag. I've never used a guide, but if I did, I'd damn sure tip more than $50 for an experience like that. Strong work.

Back in 2000 my bud guided in ID was paid $100 a day and when very successful tips of 300+ and for you to make 2-3 trips plus all the running around... needs to be at least a $1000 tip for a bull like that! I wouldn't walk down that hill much less climb it! Especially in the mud! Koodos to ya'll!!! And hopefully good people will see this and ya'll will be rewarded down the road! @@absolutearcherycenterrange573 I would assume everyone hunts because they enjoy it. That's kind of a no brainer. But if you pass up a legal bull in hopes of getting a bigger set of antlers your not really hunting for meat. Alot of people who pass on that first bull or buck go home empty handed.
