Personally I’m glad they didn’t put a dome or a retractable roof on the stadium. Keep the traditional style just upgrade it. Being in the elements of Carolina is part of the home field advantage when we aren’t a bad team.

@@jakef3995 Everyone doesn’t enjoy the same climate. Carolina can get very hot and very cold so depending on who you are and what time of year you play us that could be a disadvantage to you. Also most players don’t like playing in the snow because it makes the ball harder and hits hurt a lot more and Charolette can definitely get it’s fair share of snow.

I live in KC and we have won 3 super bowls with Mahomes. I say this because the chiefs wanted to upgrade their stadium again but Johnson County voters voted that shit down. Upgrading a stadium is not the answer Panthers. Panthers need to win before they ask taxpayers to pay for a stadium. These asshole owners have enough money to pay for their own stadium

There is already a separate entertainment tax on goods and services in Charlotte. Sounds like Tepper just wants more of this money vs giving it to other sports teams in Charlotte

They need to get people running the NFL that actually want to see real football. Every Superbowl should be played in the North where it is going to snow. And If it's not snowing come game day they need to get some machines and have it snow for the Superbowl.

Messed up the owner does not pay more for the stadium. What do the people of Charlotte get while it takes 20 years to complete? LOL Do they get a tax break, reduced tickets? This is a bad deal. Good luck. I am still a die hard Panthers fan but dang man make the tickets cheaper.

I feel like most teams make announcements like this after successful seasons. I dont really like the city putting big money into a partnership with a dude who cant win any football games. The turf is bs too. You think its a coincidence as soon as CMC gets to play on grass the injuries stopped? Jaycee prob gonna go play on some grass and be an all pro too.

Unless moving the team to a city where Tepper has to put up $1 billion+ to build a brand new stadium and install a new team, in addition to paying for the severance with Charlotte, is more profitable than staying put and making hundreds of millions for the rest of his life. I would say definitely not. Given that he's contractually obligated with Charlotte FC and Bank of America, if he really wanted to move the team it would be extremely messy and cost a fortune in legal fees, planning, analysis, etc. Plus, it's extremely difficult to get league approval to relocate a team without crazy circumstances to justify it. Long story short, it all boils down to money and the money for both Tepper and the NFL is still in Charlotte. If it gets turned down this year, there's always restructuring of planned changes and taxpayer money being allocated to make the deal better for both sides.

This isn't a bad deal to guarantee the Panthers remain in Charlotte for another 20 years and help strengthen Tepper's public image, while simultaneously bolstering our chances of hosting a Super Bowl. The funds that city council misuses year over year, could be easily reallocated to cover the $162 million they're on the hook for each year. Last year, we spent $317.6 million on police and Charlotte has turned into the wild west out here (i.e. where the cops at?). The CATS buses could probably just be completely dropped at this point with having lost 75% of ridership since 2014, so there's another $5 million each year. These stadium upgrades in the long run, ultimately mean more economic growth potential; I'm for it.
